Where: The beach for starters
Rating: PG-13 for Naked Legolas and clearly a naked, drowned rat Aragorn!
Status:COMPLETE!

Despite the turn in events, Aragorn, had been successful in rallying the armies of Rohan and Gondor. In the back of his mind as he now sat atop his horse, Aragorn allowed his mind to wander back to the Elf, a man that the Ranger had began to think of as a friend. The sudden disappearance, was still a puzzle to Aragorn and Gilmi. Even the Dwarf was beginning to miss Legolas and their little friendly competitions in battle. Sighing he ran a hand through his hair. If the Elf had been taken or killed, then Aragorn vowed today he would get that revenge upon the enemy.

Soon he had to put that out of mind as he moved to the front of the great armies that were gathered and ready for battle. The plan was to distract Sauron so Frodo and Sam could get past the Black Gates and destroy the ring. Aragorn knew that this was truly the only way they could defeat the dark enemy. He had to focus, the rest he could deal with later.

It was time. It was time for Aragorn to adress the troops and to encourage them before the battle. He moved back and forth in front of them on horseback. His eyes were dark with focus and intent as he began his speech.

"Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!"

Just as he finished the last word, things began to change and quickly. Aragorn had no idea what was happening.Things began to fade to black,or began to fade into the background completely. He felt light headed, dizzy and out of sorts. First it was him and his horse, everything else was gone now. At first, Aragorn tried to fight the complete darkness that threatened to take him,but it was too strong so it soon was able to do as it intended.

Something wet...something cold and wet fell upon Aragorn as he slowly started to stir. It took him a long time to realize it was rain, and to also gather that he was some place he had no idea where it was. All this made him come to very quickly and focus. His hands were on something grainy, rough. His fingers ran through it. Sand....?

Aragorn was quickly on his feet and looking around. He began to panic. Where was he? Where were the armies? Did Sam and Frodo make it in to destroy the ring? Did they defeat the enemy? His head was swimming with so many questions and thoughts. he was beginning to feel light headed again.

Legolas raised his hands to his hair that, while wet, was still perfectly groomed. It was an elven thing, no matter what was going on around them, even in the midst of battle, their hair looked amazing. He squeezed some water out of it, and then started working on his tunic. It was slow going, though, with the blanket still in his hand. So he tossed it to Aragorn, once the human was naked, and then worked on getting his own damp clothing off.

"Yes, well, anytime you need reminders of the limitations of the human race, I would be only too happy to provide that service to you. You're all ugly, uncouth, rude barbarians, and..." He leaned over and sniffed at the other man before smirking. "You smell foul, as well. Still, I suppose you cannot help it, and I like you despite all that."

Again, it was the sort of comment that Legolas would pretty much only make to someone that he was close enough to that they would know he was joking. There was a merry twinkle in his eye that he was sure Aragorn could read easily. And just to make sure he knew it was a joke, he laughed as he began stripping off his own clothing.

"The clothes you may place anywhere you wish, for this is not a room I am familiar with. You saw the choice I made in regards to my room. I will likely change it back later, so I care little for where you put your clothing."

To demonstrate, he flung his shirt randomly away from him, and it landed in a damp little heap near the wall. The rest of his clothing got no more reverence, but of course, he knew that new clothes would be provided when he needed them. He was in no hurry for that, though. The only things he was remotely careful with were his bow and quiver of arrows, which he hung to dry, and his knives, which he kept nearby. He had recently been in a war, after all, and old habits die hard. Especially with elves. Aragorn was no threat to him, of course, but anything else could happen.

He'd already started to peel his clothing off when Aragorn had made the suggestion, and it caused another smile to come to his lips. It was pretty much inevitable that he would respond in exactly the way he did, as he turned and started walking across the room towards his Ranger friend. He was nude, but not at all concerned about that fact.

"So eager to get me out of those garments... your concern is quite touching. Tell me, Elessar, did you miss me when I was taken?"

He stopped in front of the human and reached out for him. At the last minute, though, he stopped himself from his apparent course of hugging him, and instead, straightened the blanket he had wrapped around him, which had begun to slip off one of his shoulders.

"Are you still cold?"

Aragorn took the blanket from the other man and placed it around his shoulders, wrapping it around his chilled body. But immediately he felt warm and found he was thankful that Legolas was always semi prepared even if he didn't realize it. He watched as the other man peeled his clothes off and chuckled at his comments about humans.

"Oh my dear Legolas, tell me how you truly feel about us inferior humans." It was a jest. Truly there was no offense in his voice as he spoke. He was quite used to this from the Elf and he often times found it amusing. Even now he did. Though he suspected that also had a lot to do with the fact that he was trying to distract himself from looking at his friend, standing their naked in front of him.

He was sure the Elf was going to reach for him and he found he was disappointed when he did not. And he sucked in a breath when Legolas brushed his shoulder to fix the blanket. Then he frowned at the question. How did he explain it? How did he tell this Elf just how he felt when he had woken to find Legolas gone?

"It was quite a shock to wake up to find you gone, my friend. I had thought you were taken or that you had wandered off and gotten hurt or lost. " He paused laughing at the notion of Legolas getting lost. Then he frowned heavily once more as he got serious. "Worst yet, I had thought you were killed. I didn't know what to do. "

And it was the truth. The thought of not having Legolas near him or him being killed had did something to him that he couldn't explain. His shivered but not from the cold as he let his fear and emotions hit him hard. Something he had never allowed before.

"No, my friend I am actually warm."

The blanket didn't seem to want to stay up. It kept slipping off one or other of the human's shoulders, but Legolas was not stupid, and had an easy solution for that. He simply placed both hands on Aragorn's shoulders, holding the blanket in place. It worked quite well, and also, as a bonus, he was able to touch the human and realize that he was actually, seriously, here on Mirage with him. He'd been getting used to the idea of being alone, not having anyone from his own world. Aragorn, well, he had changed all that. It was good to feel him solid beneath his hands. Also, despite what he'd said before, Aragorn smelled pretty much as far from bad as was physically possible. Why was he just noticing this now?

"You may always count on me for that, my friend... and I will always be able to come up with new and inventive ways to inform you of such. Tell me... why do I bother with you? I know there must be some reason..."

The words were cruel, almost, yet the tone was light, and he knew that Aragorn wouldn't take it seriously. He never did. It was somewhat of a running joke between them. Although Legolas didn't truly have much use for humans, it was more because of lack of experience than any true dislike for the short lived race. Aragorn was different, anyway, and even if he had hated every single human on Middle Earth, he would have made an exception for his Ranger friend.

"I would not have strayed, Aragorn. I was to come with you on the Paths of the Dead, and I never would have turned away from that. If I had, I never could live it down. Gimli would see to that." He smiled impishly at his friend. "I worried what you... what all my companions would think when I disappeared. Would I be thought a coward? Or would you all mourn and think me dead?"

Despite Aragorn's words, the human was shaking, and Legolas wrapped his arms around him in an effort to warm him with his own body. Just like the Ranger, he thought, to state that he was warm when he was still shaking. Sometimes, he thought, even Elrond had nothing on this human in his arms as far as stubborness went.

"Foolish human, I can feel you shake. Here... I shall help."

Deliberately, he stepped closer, snatching the blanket that he had been holding up as it began to fall from Aragorn's body. Deftly, he stepped in so he was right against his friend, and wrapped the blanket around them both. Their body heat combined would, he knew, warm the human up faster. It felt amazing, actually, to be this close to him. He wasn't allowed to feel that way, but it was true nevertheless. Who can help what they feel? He would never do anything about it, of course. This man belonged to another.

Aragorn found he was shaking again but it had nothing to do with being cold.It was the touches to his skin from the Elf that had him shaking and desperately trying not to ask for more. He had never crossed a line he shouldn't. Not in any matter but certainly not in matters of the heart. He belonged to another, true. He could use the excuse she was not here, for it was true. He also got the feeling this was not something that well he could explain. This was so much more complicated and had been for quite a long time. The Elf held a very special in his heart and he always would.

"I know you will never pass up a chance to remind me. I am counting on it, Legolas." Aragorn smiled at him then looked away. "You keep me around to amuse yourself."

Sighing softly, Aragorn nodded. He knew the truth. Legolas would have never left. He would have finished this task out to the end with Aragorn. He knew that. "I know my friend. You had no choice. I know that now, but we didn't know it then." He then paused and frowned heavily. " We believed you had been killed. We knew you would never turn your back on us or run from the journey, Legolas."

Sighing and biting his lip when Legolas stepped into the blanket, Aragorn wrapped it around them by the means of wrapping his arms around Legolas' waist, pulling him closer. Immediately feeling the warmth. He would not do anything else despite how he might be feeling on the inside. He couldn't look at Legolas as eh spoke, chuckling lightly though he didn't quite feel it.

"You always did know when I was lying. Humans can't quite lie very well."

The blond elf wrapped his arms around the humans neck, holding him tightly, willing warmth into his body. Surely, there was no rule against enjoying this, was there? Aragorn was, after all, very good looking for a human. Or, to be honest, for anyone. He was just attractive, period. So being held by him wasn't going to be unpleasant. He smiled, as usual, and looked up into the blue eyes of the human. So weird to have to look up to a human, but then, Aragorn was much taller than most humans.

"Oh, yes, of course. That must be the reason..."

Biting back any number of inappropriate comments, the elf contented himself with simply holding his friend, and if he got a secret little thrill out of the fact that Aragorn was very naked, and still a little damp, that was no one's business but his own. He would certainly never tell anyone. For one thing, Elrond would have him drawn and quartered... not that the wise elf was here, of course.

"It is not such an easy thing to kill an elf, and especially not me. If someone tried, I would be forced to kill them first. I wish Riddick would try to kill me..." He grinned impishly once more.

"Humans cannot do anything very well, but we forgive you for it because you do, in fact, amuse us. Or, at the very least, you amuse me."

Was this anything than harmless? Just two friends getting close so one could offer comfort to the other? Aragorn kept telling himself this was harmless. Nothing more than Legolas trying to help. That was all it was. So what if he enjoyed it a little? SO what if he wished that it could be more than what it was? Well only it was a small wish, deep down inside that Aragorn didn't even fully accept.

Aragorn was feeling better but not wanting this to end, he kept it to himself. He rested his chin on top of Legolas' head for one small moment. The joys of being taller than the Elf though barely just. Sighing in contnt, Aragorn moved them back toward the nearest piece of furniture, a small couch, making sure to still stay as close as possible to Legolas, still pretending to need and not want his warmth. Feeling his knees hitting th eback of the couch, Aragorn sat down bringing Legolas very close with him.

He chuckled softly, shaking his head at Legolas. This Riddick whoever he was, surely seemed to get under Legolas' skin and it amused Aragorn. Since the last person to do that was the Dwarf. "I believe my Elvin Prince, we should probably keep you away from this Riddick. "

Once more he laughed, knowing that while it seemed harsh, it was truly just a barb coming from Legolas and it made this a lot easier. Being taken away from it all. Still being concerned about those he left behind. They left behind. And the fact though his heart weeped for being taken from Arwen, he still couldn't bring himself to think too much about her. About the one he pledged himself to. All he could think about was the fact that somehow he had been reunited with Legolas. he wondered if there was a hidden purpose for this. For this planet to have taken him as well.

Before this moment, he would have thought it was anyone's guess if, in this very situation, Aragorn would have accepted his warmth, or pushed him away and stubbornly wanted to do it himself. The human was somewhat unpredictable. He was glad, though, for his own reasons, that Aragorn was accepting this. He didn't even let himself know just how glad he was.

It was nice, though, to have the human hold him, to feel him rest his chin on top of his head. A little too nice, and deep down, he knew it. But he didn't stop him or pull away, and it had nothing to do with comforting or warming the Ranger. Before he had much of a chance to think on this, he was being pulled over to the couch. When Aragorn sat, Legolas sat too... right in the human's lap. Appropriate? No. Fun? Definately. And for the elf, that was usually enough. He kept his arms around Aragorn's neck, holding on to him.

"Riddick had best keep himself away from me..."

But there was no real venom in his tone, because he was simply too light-hearted to take anything seriously, even a rivalry/enmity with Riddick. It was similar, in a way, to what he'd been through with the dwarf. That had ended alright, but then, Gimli was basically a decent being. Riddick, he rather thought, was a different story, and he somehow doubted he would become friends with the bald man in the same way he had with Gimli.

But it wasn't really important, he realized. Riddick was barely a blip on his horizon at this point. All that mattered was Aragorn, this link to his past, who was now all he had of the future. With a soft sigh, the elf seemed almost serious as he suddenly shifted and rested his head on the human's shoulder. Allowed or not, it was just so good to have him here. And he figured if the human objected, he could always push him away.

"There is much I would show you, Elessar. Many wonders exist in this strange land. Many I have seen, but surely, many are yet to be discovered. Will you share this with me?"

He wondered, even as he spoke, if he was actually begging the human. Surely not... but there was a slight desparation in his mind to keep Aragorn with him. He didn't let it into his voice, though. Idly, he wondered if Aragorn could ever truly be happy here, in a world that was so peaceful.

It took him quite a long time to realize what had just happened. He hadn't realized when he sat, pulling Legolas with him that he had pulled the Elf into his lap. Funny how even when it did hit him, he was not in a hurry to make an amends. He found no need to. His mind immediately began to think about what this meant. Why he was allowing this to happen? Why he wasn't pulling away.? Why he wasn't making Legolas leave his resting place in his lap?

More importantly he was wondering why it was he was holding Legolas tighter, pulling him closer, while still trying to keep the blanket wrapped around them. Even as he felt a small amount of sweat rolling down his shoulders more from pure effort to not move and shift the naked Elf too much on his lap, not from the heat.

Despite the impish side of Legolas, the Elf had proven himself many times to be valuable to Aragorn and his friendship was something Aragorn cherished. He just wondered now if it had somehow managed to blossom into something more without him knowing it? It would explain so much.

It was as Legolas sifted, placing his head on Aragorn's shoulder that he came from his thoughts and tilted his head downward to look at Legolas. He placed a soft kiss to the top of the Elf's head hoping to pass it off as nothing more than comfort. He sighed softly and wondered how his answer would sound to the softly spoken question that held so much within it that it almost overwhelmed Aragorn with how it made him feel.

He knew this would take some getting used to. Being in a peaceful place when it was not something he was used to by any means. But he had two choices. One was to be miserable which would make things hell for him and any one around him. Or two , he could accept what ever it was that brought him here with Legolas and thank whatever it was silently every day. Perhaps... No. These were dangerous thoughts for sure.

"Of course I will, my Elvin Prince." He paused and looked away at something not seen nor truly there on the wall. " There is nothing else I would rather do."
