Where: The beach for starters
Rating: PG-13 for Naked Legolas and clearly a naked, drowned rat Aragorn!
Status:COMPLETE!

Despite the turn in events, Aragorn, had been successful in rallying the armies of Rohan and Gondor. In the back of his mind as he now sat atop his horse, Aragorn allowed his mind to wander back to the Elf, a man that the Ranger had began to think of as a friend. The sudden disappearance, was still a puzzle to Aragorn and Gilmi. Even the Dwarf was beginning to miss Legolas and their little friendly competitions in battle. Sighing he ran a hand through his hair. If the Elf had been taken or killed, then Aragorn vowed today he would get that revenge upon the enemy.

Soon he had to put that out of mind as he moved to the front of the great armies that were gathered and ready for battle. The plan was to distract Sauron so Frodo and Sam could get past the Black Gates and destroy the ring. Aragorn knew that this was truly the only way they could defeat the dark enemy. He had to focus, the rest he could deal with later.

It was time. It was time for Aragorn to adress the troops and to encourage them before the battle. He moved back and forth in front of them on horseback. His eyes were dark with focus and intent as he began his speech.

"Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!"

Just as he finished the last word, things began to change and quickly. Aragorn had no idea what was happening.Things began to fade to black,or began to fade into the background completely. He felt light headed, dizzy and out of sorts. First it was him and his horse, everything else was gone now. At first, Aragorn tried to fight the complete darkness that threatened to take him,but it was too strong so it soon was able to do as it intended.

Something wet...something cold and wet fell upon Aragorn as he slowly started to stir. It took him a long time to realize it was rain, and to also gather that he was some place he had no idea where it was. All this made him come to very quickly and focus. His hands were on something grainy, rough. His fingers ran through it. Sand....?

Aragorn was quickly on his feet and looking around. He began to panic. Where was he? Where were the armies? Did Sam and Frodo make it in to destroy the ring? Did they defeat the enemy? His head was swimming with so many questions and thoughts. he was beginning to feel light headed again.

Aragorn grabbed for a towel and wrapped it around his shoulder and looked back to Legolas and blinked when the other man began to undress. But then again this was Legolas so it truly didn't bother him. He just looked away. After all the man was just as soaked as he was, but well was a lot more modest.

As Legoals spoke once more his mind went back to their home. What must be going on now? Were Frodo and Sam able to make it in and destroy the ring? All these thoughts swam in his head.At hearing that Legolas had ran into someone that he did not like, which was quite odd. He wondered though if it was anything like the Elf's odd friendship with the Dwarf. He chuckled thinking of what Gilmi would be saying if he knew that they were together without him.

"I find it odd that you find someone you can't get along with, Legolas." Then Aragorn looked at him, smiling as he nodded then frowned.

"I wonder now what happens back on Middle Earth. There is a battle going on... they need us both."

He quickly, and much more effectively, dried himself off and then started working on his hair. He was fairly certain this building must be heated, because though it was stormy outside, it really was quite warm inside. Enough that, even slightly damp, he was quite comfortable being completely naked. He'd long since stopped wondering about why humans didn't simply unclothe when it would be more convienant to do so. It was just the way humans were, and Aragorn was still a human.

"I know... but the man with the strange eyes was quite unpleasant. I almost was forced to put an arrow through his head. I probably would have done so, had it not been the case that... oh. One more thing you should know. Here, no one can kill. It is not allowed."

He tossed a towel into a nearby bin for that purpose, and leaned back against the wall, quite comfortable. But Aragorn's words had him sitting bolt upright again. After all, he had been involved in the war before he'd been taken, and had a keen interest in it.

"Tell me, Aragorn... tell me everything that has occured since I was taken. What happened when you went to the Paths of the Dead? Did they join you? When were you taken? Are you King yet?"

The questions came out all at once, in a rapidfire way, as if the elf couldn't tell which one he wanted to be answered first.

Aragorn simply nodded at the news of no killing and the man with quite odd eyes. He would stay away and well Aragorn hated to kill unless loeft with no choice.

"Such strange rules for a strange place." He mused out loud then the frown was once more back upon his lips and heavily as his brow furrowed.

The Elf had missed much and there was much to tell. And his woorry for the armies and their friends was back once more. The questions came quickly but Aragorn was able to catch them and he sighed softly, looking at his friend, not at all concerned about his naked state.

"I was so concerned for you when I woke up that morning and you were gone. But I carried on with the plan, making a vow it would not be in vain. They joined us in our cause with the promise they would be free when it was over. I was taken just as we were to march on the Black Gates."He frowned hoping Frodo and Sam were able to destroy the ring.

"I was taken just after my speech..."Aragorn paused and sighed softly. " I hope my friend they were able to carry on without me..."

He wasn't surprised, really, that the no killing rule had not bothered his friend. Like himself, he killed out of necessity, not because he liked to do so. He reached out to check on his clothing, which was still damp, and then turned his full attention back to the Ranger. It was a story that held much interest to the elf, and he listened intently.

"The rules are strange, but I suppose that the planet does not wish to waste energy bringing people here only to have them killed. It is no big thing, of course... except that I really would have enjoyed killing the arrogant, rude, ill-mannered human..."

He stopped himself, realized he was coming very close to ranting, and changed the subject back to the more important topic of the war on Middle Earth. He sighed when he heard what the Ranger had to say.

"So, the war is not over. But tell me... what came over you that you would think to march on Mordor itself? Madness..." Although, of course, there was an approving look in his dark eyes at the thought. It was exactly the sort of plan he, himself, likely would have counselled had he been there. "I find myself... worried, and not glad, that you were taken away at such an important time. Middle Earth needed it's King... but I cannot say with all honesty that I am not glad to see you here."

Aragorn laughed at Legolas' admission that he would have enjoyed killing whoever this human was.He knew that was a lot coming from the Elf.he never killed because he wanted to just like Aragorn. "My Legolas not many can get to you like that my friend. I am sure Gilmi would be sore to know he missed another getting a rise out of you."

Aragorn stood, his shirt sticking to his skin was annoying him to no end and it was warmer here than before. So he peeled his shirt off laying it out flat to dry and sighed softly.

"You know me... I like to do the impossible." Aragorn smiled briefly before going back to his frown." We had to come up with something to assure we could destroy ring."

Aragorn sighed and ran a hand through his wet hair nodding."My friend, I had no choice in leaving. I wish I was back there.." But then he smiled saying softly. "But at least I have once more found you, Legolas."

The Ranger's comments had the elf bursting out into musical-sounding laughter, and his slender body relaxed back against the wall once more. He was relaxed around Aragorn in a way he wasn't really around anyone else. But then, despite the fact that they'd only really met a very short time ago, at least as elves reckoned things, he trusted the human. They had been through a lot together.

"The son of Gloin the Dwarf has never irritated me as much as this human did. I would say that we did not have a highly successful meeting. And that, my King, is an understatement."

The title was given with a smile and a nod, and the elf watched as the human rose to his feet, stripping off his shirt. His smile widened. At least Aragorn was seeing sense. And it must mean he was feeling more comfortable, since he never would have started taking clothing off if he wasn't.

"Oh! And now you are mimicking me and speaking in understatements. Long have I heard tales of Aragorn, son of Arathorn, and heard of his daring in battle." He laughed teasingly up at the stoic Ranger, enjoying himself. The teasing was just like they had done around the campfire for many months. It felt good. But suddenly, he was serious. "But you do not know... if the One Ring of Sauron was, in fact, destroyed?"

He frowned, wishing that the planet had waited to bring Aragorn to him until after the war was over, so that he could have more complete news. Which was a bit disloyal, because after the war, Aragorn would have a kingdom to run. He shouldn't be wishing him here at all.

"Nor I, my friend... I would much rather be among the trees of Mirkwood or even Fangorn. Gimli will say I left only because I wished to avoid travelling to his precious caves, as I promised him I would. I am disgraced, having not kept my word." He had a dry sort of sense of humor at times, and it was obviously coming out now. "I am very glad to see you, son of Arathorn."

The sound of the Elf's laughter was truly music to his ears. God this felt so good to be back around Legolas but oh how he wished he knew what was going on back home. He needed to know that they had been able to succeed. That this had not all been for nothing. But soon he was laughing again as he thought about the bantering between Elf and Dwarf on their journeys. It was always amusing to be a witness too.

It was just like many other moments with them, bantering and making fun of the other in many ways.Chuckling softly at Legolas making fun of him,Aragorn sighed softly and shrugged gently.

"I suppose now that I am not there, the Middle Earth will be without a King but that is the least of my worries. I truly hope Frodo and Sam were able to destroy the ring and defeat Sauron."

Once more Aragorn paused and looked at Legolas, his leggings were sticking to him but he refused to get naked so he would deal with it. He sat down once more and leaned back in his seat thinking. What would happen now? Was legolas right? Were they truly trapped here? At least he was with one who knew him. Who truly knew who he was and understood him. he raised a hand to rub at his temple. It had been a long day but something was coursing through him causing a slight bit of confusion when he looked at the Elf

"I thought that Elrond had finally gone quite mad when he assigned a halfling to bear the One Ring, but after travelling with him, I have decided otherwise. Frodo will get the ring where it needs to go, my friend, and if he fails, Sam will show his worth. I would wager... I know not, perhaps my bow!"

It was, of course, a perfectly safe bet to make, since chances were good neither of them would ever know if Sam and Frodo had destroyed the ring. Otherwise, he never would have brought his precious bow into it. However, he did honestly believe that there was not no chance that the Hobbits would succeed. Stranger things had definately been known to happen, he mused as he looked over at his friend. Like them being here at all, for one.

"Middle Earth will suffer for lacking you as King, however... their loss is my gain, since you are now here with me. Aragorn! Do you wish to see something very odd?"

Without waiting for a response, he rose to his feet and walked over to the TV set in the wall. He was sure it was amaze his friend as much as it had him the first time he'd seen one. Pressing the large button, the screen flickered to life, and Legolas stepped out of the way so his friend could see it.

"It is not tiny people trapped in there, as I first thought. Although, to be honest, I do not fully understand what it is. But it is rather fascinating, isn't it?"

On the screen, the person being filmed talked about water safety, saying things that once more had Legolas laughing. He had learned these things while practically still an infant, and couldn't imagine why anyone would need to be told. Always inclined to be merry, this trait was increased by the sheer joy of having his friend around.
