Day 8 // Enter Rogue
Who: Rogue and Bobby Drake
When: Day 8, early afternoon
Where: The beach
Why: Rogue's arrival
Rating: G
Status: Complete

It was an odd feeling to be drained of life force. Rogue had done it to so many others yet had never experienced the sensation herself. As Apocalypse sucked the energy and absorbed powers out of the young mutant she learned out painful it could be. Tiring too. Once the ancient mutant had his fill and let go of the young woman, she sank to the cold ground and passed out. It seemed like she was out for a few minutes when Rogue's green eyes snapped open. Why is it so hot? The teenager had been in cold Himalayas' in Tibet so she shouldn't have felt like she was roasting. Wasn't I in a cave? Where is this sand coming from? That was when Rogue realized something was horribly wrong.

Sitting up quickly, Rogue glanced around to see that she was no longer in Apocalypse's lair but on a tropical beach! "Okay...what's going on here?" Rogue murmured, confusion crossing her pale features. She slowly stood up and brushed the sand off her black jeans before shedding the heavy winter jacket to reveal a black tank top. Typically Rogue tried to keep herself covered up as much as she could but it was simply too hot. Besides, she was pretty good at avoiding skin to skin contact as long as she kept her gloves on. The teenager slung the jacket over her shoulder and looked around the beach once more. Off in the distance was a large white stucco building. Maybe it Rogue was lucky she'd find people inside.

Maybe I don't even have to go inside, the teenager thought when her eyes caught some movement further down the beach. It was person but aside from that Rogue couldn't really make out their features in the bright sunlight. "Hey!" she called, waving her free arm. God I hope they know where the other x-men are to, Rogue silently prayed as she jogged toward the other person.

"If I hadn't been kidnapped before then I might not believe you", Rogue said with a sigh. Thanks to Magneto and Mystique however, Rogue was all too familiar with the kidnap scenario. "It's also not the craziest thing I've heard of but I'm inclined to believe you anyway. You aren't exactly the greatest liar Bobby".

When he told none of it had happened, Rogue first reaction was defensiveness. "Of course it happened! I remember it, don't I? I--" Then Rogue broke off, a horrifying thought occurring to the girl. "That's if I can trust my memories", she finally said after a few moments. Oh god, what if someone had fucked with her memories? What if what Rogue remembered wasn't true? A mutant could do it, a powerful one like Xavier or Mastermind could screw with a person's thoughts.

She looked at Bobby, feeling more than a little frightened. Being kidnapped was bad enough but thinking that who or whatever kidnapped you had messed with your mind? That boarded on terrifying. "What if you're right? What if something messed with my mind?" Rogue's gloved hands came up to rub her eyes. She didn't like this feeling, not one bit but another thought occurred to her then. "What if it messed with your mind too?" she suddenly asked Bobby, her hands dropping down.

"Oh this beyond screwed up".

"Hey, I," he started to protest, then stopped. "Okay, you have a point. And that's so not something I should protest." Even if he kind of did want to insist that he could so lie.

Oh, man, this so royally sucked. He'd been so happy to see her, and now it wasn't even really her. Well, it was her, but someone had messed with her memories and that was just really not okay. Even if she didn't remember that they'd been together, he still cared about her a lot, and wanted to protect her. Which meant he hated this planet a lot more now.

Bobby frowned a bit. "That's a good point." He considered that. Nah. He'd know, or something, wouldn't he? He knew what it was like to have a telepath in his mind. "Wait. There have been people here from different worlds. I don't know. You think, maybe you're just from a different world than mine?"

Rogue just stared at Bobby for a few moments, blinking twice before she finally opened her mouth. “Okay, that has to be the craziest thing I’ve ever heard”. From a different world? No way, Rogue immediately thought but a nagging voice in the back of her mind told Rogue not to blow off the possibility completely. “Okay, that might explain why neither of us remembers the same thing”, she admitted grudgingly. “It would also explain why you look so different from the Bobby Drake I know, who’s about fourteen right now”.

The teenager glanced around the scenic beach and shook her head ruefully. “And to think I thought evil mutants were the biggest thing I had to worry about”, she chuckled. “Never imagined I’d be kidnapped and dropped into a different reality”. Her green eyes strayed on the blue waters before finding their way back to Bobby’s face. While this Bobby was different from the one she knew Rogue was glad to have a somewhat familiar face around and another mutant to boot. Normally she was a solitary girl but she had enough sense to tell her that this was not a situation you wanted to be alone in.

“So what’s the deal with this place? Do you have any idea why we were brought here?”
