Day Seven
Who: Bobby Drake and Hellboy
What: Bobby's Arrival
When: Late afternoon-ish
Where: The Courtyard
Rating: Shouldn't go above PG-13
Status: Incomplete

It was good the school was back open. He was happy about that. And Bobby was very busy concentrating on that, and not on anything else. Not on how different it felt with the Professor and Scott and Jean gone, or about Rogue leaving in the middle of the night, or Johnny (Pyro, he reminded himself, not Johnny, he had to stop thinking of him as Johnny) locked up in the sublevels and what the hell they were going to do about that. He was refusing to think about anything awkward or depressing. None of it. Just being glad the school was open and Jimmy was safe and the Cure was hopefully taken care of.

And because he wasn't doing an entirely good job of that, he'd suited up and was heading to the Danger Room. Working out, that'd give him something to do. He'd program in something hard, maybe one of the scenarios Kitty'd made, and push himself through it. He'd even brought along his iPod, freshly updated with his music, so if his brain started trying to think, he could just turn that on and distract himself enough that he'd have to concentrate on the scenario and the music and nothing else. Until he was too tired to think.

Before he could get to the Danger Room, though, he spotted Jimmy walking his way. Bobby automatically tossed him a wide smile. "Hey, Jimbo."

"Hi Bobby," Jimmy returned, smiling a bit shyly back at him.

Bobby stopped walking. "Back up a couple of steps, will you?"

Jimmy's smile widened as he obeyed. Ever since coming there, Jimmy'd been uncertain and apologetic about his power, warning people that if they could close to him, their powers would disappear. Bobby'd done his best to make Jimmy feel more comfortable and commented quite a bit on how cool Jimmy's power was. Which, really, it was. And Bobby liked getting to feel cold like a normal person when he was around Jimmy, almost as much as he liked the smile on Jimmy's face every time Bobby gushed over getting to feel ice.

Bobby held his hands together for a moment, then pulled one hand away to reveal an ice rose. He could've just done a chunk of ice, yeah, but he couldn't resist the chance to show off a bit. And ice roses were easy for him. "Okay, come on closer," he said, looking up.

And then blinking in surprise when both Jimmy and the hallway were gone. He grinned. "Very funny, guys, you know this means huge retaliation, right?" he asked. "Dani? Is that you?"

He didn't get a response, and he realized that really, that didn't make sense, since there was nothing he really feared or desired about an empty courtyard. He started getting suspicious, and he dropped into defensive mode, suddenly glad he was wearing his uniform.

"Jimmy? Anyone? Hello?" he called cautiously.

Hellboy was, once again, in a subway tunnel, pursuing a demon that had already killed a busload of people across town, several people in a Chinese restaurant, the patrons of a convenience store and demolished a shopping mall, killing anyone that got in it's way. The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense had immediately dispatched Hellboy, Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman when the reports came through.

They had all followed seperate leads and his had lead him first to an outdoor festival in one of the city's parks. Hellboy looked little better than the demon he was trying to stop, but luckily that worked to his advantage as people scattered and gave him clearer access to the murderous beast. He blew off one of it's six arms with his exploding, Holy Water filled rounds, but it still managed to escape into the subway with it's stub oozing bluish-black blood like a geyser.

"Is there a family plan for chaos demons? Why always the subway? Jeesh", he grumbled as he followed, holding 'Samaritan' high. This time, as luck would have it, the train had already filled and gone and he didn't have to deal with the screams and running humans and etc, etc. The demon turned to him and roared it's righteous fury and then disappeared into the tunnel. Hellboy sighed, called it in to Liz and Abe and then followed him in.

They were about 400 feet into the tunnel when the demon dropped from the tar-black shadows around the ceiling onto Hellboy's back. They both rolled around on the tracks of the subway and the monster earned itself a punch in the face with Hellboy's massive stone Right Hand of Doom. As he raised his fist for another devastating blow, the air seemed to...shimmer...and his fist came down into...no demon and he was in some sort of courtyard...with a boy in a dark uniform...a uniform that looked strangely familiar.

"I'm not Jimmy, kid, but if you had anything to do with this, we need to talk". the big red demon grumbled.

Bobby turned at the sound of the voice. There'd definitely been no one there a few moments ago. Teleporter. Had to be a teleporter. A teleporter he didn't know about, though, because he'd definitely never seen this guy before. After Kurt, Mystique, Warren, and some of the other mutants he'd met, Bobby'd pretty much stopped being surprised by physical mutations, so he just eyed him slightly suspiciously.

"So does that mean you've got nothing to do with this? Cause if you were teleporting and it got out of hand, or something, it's really okay," he said.

It was definitely better than the alternative, which was...well, Bobby was still trying to figure out what the alternative was, actually. His first impulse was to go with a possible Brotherhood attack, but since all of the leaders and higher-ups were currently either human, in custody, or dead, that didn't seem likely. Unless it was someone looking for retaliation, but with their numbers seriously depleted, they'd have to be crazy to take on the X-men so soon. And anyway, what the hell would teleporting him to a random courtyard accomplish? It would've been better to teleport him to a cell or something if they wanted him alive.

"It'd be really, really okay, actually, because if this isn't a powers malfunction, I've got nothing." Well, nothing or Brotherhood sneak attack, but if that was it, it had to be some really elaborate set up, and Bobby might as well not admit he suspected anything.
