The problem with experimental techniques was that they were just that -- experimental. Prone to disaster. Prone to issues and problems like electricity pouring through his veins one moment while he floated in a vat of green water and the next minute -- this. It reminded him far too much of the beach he'd ended up on after Helen had tried to kill him.

He looked around for any homicidal ex-wives or other murderers, but there didn't seem to be anyone fitting that description in the vicinity, though he could see something, there on the edge of the horizon.

Just what he needed.

Picking his cell phone out of his pocket and snarled when the screen displayed a "out of range" error. Of course. Suspecting that he wouldn't get range anywhere, he still tucked the cell phone back into his pocket and began walking towards what seemed like a mirage and tried not to think how it vaguely resembled the Kent farm.

Lex wasn't that lucky.

Concierge? Jun furrowed his brow and rushed around to once again block the newly arrived gentleman’s path. He had dealt with many like this at the café…finely dressed men of wealth who believed they could treat those of lower station in any manner they wished.

“Excuse me, sir. Jun is no concierge. He is also not your servant, nor your slave. If you do not wish to give me your name, that is your right, but I must tell you two things”, he held his hand up and showed one finger, “One…you are on a distant planet and have been brought here by said planet”, he held a second finger up, “…Two…the planet demands that all new arrivals read the tablet it has placed in the center of the resort it has made for us, it’s guests”. Jun was a sweet and very personable young man, but when he set his mind to something or when he felt he’d been insulted, he was a force to be reckoned with.

“For your own good, you must come with me now to read the tablet at the center of the resort”, he crossed his arms over his chest, “This is not a request, sir. I would ask cordially, but your rude manner tells me you would not listen. Please do not make me carry you”.

On the outside Jun was tough as nails, but on the inside, he was feeling rather sad…he would rather have been this newcomer’s friend. So sad, he mused, often, the very wealthy have no real friends.

Lex raised an eyebrow at the two things that he had to be told... and it went higher as Jun threatened to carry him to this tablet-- whatever that was.

He'd be damned before he let anyone carry him anywhere.

"Fine," he snapped and pocketed the key. "Lead the way." He'd read whatever this tablet was and then try to figure this place out. Either it was a nightmare of his own devising -- he really did need a therapist if this was what his mind was cooking up -- or his household staff had drugged him, probably under the guise of his father.

Anything but what Jun had said. Planets weren't sentient and he should know, he dealt long enough with the crap factory in Smallville.
