Who: Rose and the Doctor
What: Arriving on the Planet
Where: Just outside the ranch
When: Today, just after this.
Rating: PG? If that?
Status: Complete, threaded

Rose kept her hand in the Doctor's swinging their joined hands between them as they started toward the door. She pushed it open, first noticing how warm it was as they stepped outside. "I don't think this is our stop," she said, glancing up to the Doctor. "Not that that'll keep us from exploring."

She tilted her head, sniffing. "It smells like...animals. And grass." She idly wondered where on earth- well. In the universe- they had ended up. "Any ideas? I don't know."

And then suddenly there were...creatures, walking in their direction. Rose slowed in her tracks, bringing a hand up to shade her eyes. "Wha- Can you see what those are? They don't look like anything I've ever seen."

"I wonder how many there are," she said, hanging the jumper back up and shifted some other clothes around, grinning when she found the pink dress she'd worn back in the 1950's. "People, I mean." She released her hold on the dress and stepped back, shutting it again.

"I don't know. I'd guess those stone people are what's left of the original inhabitants. Perhaps they're trying to repopulate in a rather unconventional way... in which case I'd guess there aren't many people here. Well. Yet," he suggested with a little shrug. "Unless it's a new planet.. hmm. I've never heard of it, but maybe the TARDIS knows something. Or maybe the other.. new civilians know more than us!" he said, trying to remain positive about the situation.

"Maybe," she said, quiet as she turned in her spot, looking at the entire room. She sighed softly and made her way back over to the Doctor's side, wrapping her arms around him in a hug. It was another moment before she pulled back. "Should we go check the TARDIS?"

The Doctor accepted her hug gratefully, rubbing her back in a comforting manner. "It'll be all right," he insisted softly. It was strange, but the thought of being trapped was worse than anything they had faced together. It didn't matter how perfect or luxurious it was. As far as the Doctor was concerned, prisons came in many different guises, and not all of them had bars or fences.

"Yeah, come on then. Let's see what the old girl makes of this place," he suggested. Although the Doctor didn't want to leave until they'd solved the mystery, he hoped that the TARDIS would give them quick answers and perhaps a reassurance that they could leave.

"Yeah, it will," she said, taking another look around before she took his hand. "I'd like that. I'd feel better, at least." Hopefully they'd be able to leave. It did look like a nice place, but she didn't want to be stuck here forever!

As usual, he gave her hand a little squeeze of encouragement, smiling over at her as if nothing could possibly go wrong. "Right. We'll do a little scan, look it up on the map, and most importantly check she's still in working order," he nodded. "Come on!" he grinned, giving her hand a little tug so they could head off and check everything out.
