Although he'd lived for more years than humans had even existed for, he'd never had a day like the one he'd had yesterday. It seemed there were a lot of 'nevers' going on in his life recently, actually. He'd never been kidnapped before, only now Mirage had changed that. He'd never been bowling before... and he chose not to think much about that, But above all, he'd never had coffee with his nemesis, and had never expected to. Even kings who had been alive for thousands of years don't know everything, apparently.

Though no one would have known it simply by looking at him, he was still hashing the whole thing over in his mind. What had happened, and why? In the end, though, he'd been able to come to only one conclusion. He wasn't exactly sure the why and how of it all, but he was sure of one thing. He hadn't hated anything that had happened, no matter how awkward it had been. Perhaps that was enough.

He'd gone back to his room after the odd chat with Sarah, and been there ever since, thinking it through. Now, however, it was time to get out of there. So he left the room that was the spitting image of his throne room in the Castle at the center of the Labyrinth, after dressing in his more typcial Fae style. Jeremy, it would seem, was not an everyday sort of thing here. And he was much more comfortable in the outlandish, romantic clothing he favored. Mortal clothing was so strange.

The king didn't have any particular plans, he just didn't want to spend any more time in his room. So, thinking he would perhaps take a walk (and just happen to stroll past Sarah's room), he turned the doorknob and stepped out his door into the hallway beyond it.

Hearing him close and feeling the breeze on her face, riling her hair into what must be such an unattractive mess, she opened her eyes again. His eyes were on her again but she supposed that was because she looked very childish taking in the sunlight the way she had. She favored him with a sweet smile, thankfully not blushing this time.

"Yes, the river. I was hoping to see it. I was sort of preoccupied with running across the bridges over the river in the park when I was younger. Oh but you probably knew that. Hm. So does this one have any bridges?"

Her eyes strayed out toward the water and she began to walk in that direction. Still chilly, she hunched her shoulders slightly, pushing her hands deep inside the pockets of her jeans. And her hand brushed another foreign object where the protein bar had appeared. Pulling it from her pocket, she played it over and over in her fingers, almost shocked to see it. Though, in the scheme of things, the engagement ring in her pocket was the least strange thing she'd seen since she'd gotten here.

It probably wasn't a wise thing to do, but he did it anyway. Reaching out, he let his fingers smooth down her hair, tucking a few errant strands behind her ears. Earlier, while kissing her, he'd noticed how soft her hair was. Perhaps this was just an excuse to touch it again. Or, perhaps it was just an excuse to touch her again.

"Yes, I knew that." He smiled at her in return and then started walking toward the river. "There are bridges if you want there to be bridges." Actually, he was pretty sure he'd passed some bridges in his wanderings, but he hadn't bothered crossing any of them.

When he noticed her shivering, he hesitated just a moment. He had no idea how she would take this gesture. But in the end, he removed the long blue velvet cape he wore and draped it around her shoulders. Hopefully, that would keep her warm. While arranging the cloak, he glanced down at the ring and then into her face with a half-confused, half-amused expression. "If you're asking me to marry you, my answer is yes."
