Hi! Happy Easter/Passover/Spring Equinox/etcetc! Plot things :D

The search for Kurt in Seattle : The thread is still going on (quite nicely I might add), but the holiday weekend leads me to think it might go a little slowly. However, you don't need to worry about your characters being detained there due to unforeseen circumstances. The squad got back late Friday night/early Saturday morning (between the 21st and the 22nd) with Kurt, who is in critical condition and being seen to in the medlab. I think Kim will also end up with a broken arm, and any other injuries can either be pre-determined or you can choose not to mention them until they happen in the thread and you figure out what they are.

Who the hell is Victor Vivieros? : You might be asking yourselves this----and your characters might want to be asking themselves, too, since he came out of nowhere. However, according to the papers (and according to most of the X-Men who are still in Washington like Charles Xavier and Hank McCoy), he sounds like someone who could really really be a good idea for the country. He's got the right rhetoric and some extremely solid plans, and under his leadership it looks like things are going to fall back into place, with both mutants and non-mutants in mind. His own x-gene status is unknown.

WTF happened to the Brotherhood? : As you can see, the Brotherhood is pretty decimated right now, and the Lair might not end up being the apartment complex it once was. Young BH members like Dom and Cait are essentially staying loyal to the cause but are maturing and moving out----looks like John and Rogue might find a house together away from the Lair. They're laying low until they can reform their ranks. However, as a mod note, this really doesn't mean that characters should stop interacting or go on hiatus while the Brotherhood is trying to get back on its feet. There's a lot of character potential there, so use it! :D

What about Xavier's School classes? : Some teachers are teaching, some aren't----basically, those who aren't injured and aren't in Washington have resumed classes, so students have a weird and erratic schedule which can lead to lots of mistakes. Several students are just skipping classes altogether but eventually someone will find out... like Sally, so watch out.

What really happened to Magneto? : Tch, whatever. :)

So what's going on?

Complete and utter chaos. The people are without a governing body at the moment but the general consensus is to get things back to normal. There are a couple of hoo-hahs running around trying to take over, but they're usually squashed before they can do anything. Most areas have the local police force rising up to try and keep order, and in most areas, people are complacent. However, it's pretty damn chaotic when trying to discover what the hell to do. Senator Sean Patrick (remember him? No? Well, he's been around since the Dead Politicians' Society storyline) is the public face of things, along with Donald Blake (if he chooses to be), giving updates on the news and trying to keep everyone informed.

We'll be writing up news articles and continuing to write OOC updates to give characters an idea of what's going on in their world politically (but you don't need to rely on them to keep playing! :) ). Things are going to straighten out over the next month, and we can promise: a new leader taking his place as president, more shenanigans with the Friends of Humanity, some peace and quiet for the X-Men and Brotherhood to regroup (perfect time to really get the new characters involved!). And this summer... or maybe earlier if we can't contain ourselves... expect some surprises and plot twists that are sure to rock everyone's world!! :D!!

By Monday morning, a massive section of the White House is in flames and Magneto has not been seen for hours----except by a select few (John, Rogue, Mystique, Logan, and... other people who were around that area within a couple hours of the Xavier/Magneto log), who claim that Magneto's body was found in the White House in the area where John set it aflame. Word is beginning to circulate and the news is beginning to pick up that Magneto is dead but there are no details on the news because they just don't know.

The Brotherhood is fighting in a last-ditch effort to save Washington but they're clearly losing, particularly after the loss of their leader. Many less-loyal Brotherhood members have fled, not wanting to give their lives for Magneto if Magneto is dead. The only ones left fighting are people like Mystique, Pyro, and other members of the main Brotherhood group (our played characters).

Charles Xavier managed to drag himself away from Magneto and is currently in an undamaged section of the White House. I was going to have just Logan find him but I can open it up... if there are a couple of good-guy characters who'd like to locate him along with Logan, they can carry Xavier out and find him (and other injured X-Men) safe transport to a local hospital as the battle starts to end. Which.. could be a thread if people are up for it!

Elsewhere in the country, other battles are also mostly over. The battle for Boston ended around Saturday night, with Jubilee and Mermaid returning Sunday... So if you have a character who went elsewhere for a battle, they can either return around now or decide to stick around in those other places until things stabilize a little better.

As for what'll happen AFTER this..? You'll just have to keep tuning in. :D

The main battle thread is still going strong and is still open for people to battle their hearts out, I'm loving reading all this stuff. *hops* Thanks to everyone for their attention and patience with this massive, massive undertaking. omg.

So, it's after March 15. What's going on?

The battle for Washington and other fights across the country are still going on. The fighting went into the night and continues into Sunday. Some fights elsewhere have already been won (or lost), but Washington is still a battleground.

If your character was not sent to fight, all of this information would be on the news. Up-close footage of the battle is difficult to obtain, but the news stations that were up and running during Magneto's reign would definitely be covering this with as many updates as possible. Regular programming is pretty much shot as most channels are interrupted with breaking news.

If your character was sent somewhere other than Washington and you feel that the battle would be over by now, your character has two options: he/she can return to the school, or he/she can move in to fight in Washington at some point-----it doesn't have to be played out, because the majority of threads within the main battle thread are taking place Saturday morning when the other characters would still be in different cities.

We will continue to provide plot updates as this continues, so people know what their characters are likely to be responding to. Keep an eye out for a Xavier/Magneto narrative. It won't end the fighting entirely but will signal the beginning of the end ... and then more plot updates will follow as the week goes on. Yes, a lot of info will go in the OOC community because of the difficulty in writing narratives about these things----and to make sure that everyone reads them :D

So! After much deliberation and planning, the battle plans for Brave New World have been drawn up. It's going to be divided into at least three separate posts, with the option of players writing threads/logs/etc that take place in other parts of the country (either before, during, or after a battle there).

The battle is going to go forward on Saturday, March 15, and the same goes for this as what went for the FOH battle----it does not need to be finished on March 15 and you can work out the outcome out with other players. However, because of the massive importance of the thread, game time might need to be sort of unrealistically frozen for a few days because it's going to totally change the direction of the game. There will be a plot post once all three sections of the battle are posted, and even if the individual battles aren't finished, Mel and I will be writing up a description of exactly what's happened in the aftermath and stuff. It'll be a complicated (but hopefully really fun) transition period, and we'll try to keep everyone informed and inspired.

Hey, everyone!

I just want to take this opportunity to give everyone an update as to what's going on with the plots we have happening: what's going on, what's going to happen. We've got some complex plots going on and while we try to keep everything available in threads and summaries, I know not everyone reads everything and when things are all over the place or spread out over a long period of time it can be hard to follow. I want to make sure everyone's on the same page in terms of plot so no one feels left behind and so no one thinks we've lost sight of where things are going. :)
