This was such a pleasure to read! You've written a marvelous Draco, a little bitter and resigned but still fighting, and his clients were both dreadful and hilarious. I really like that he got himself out of trouble there at the end rather than having Harry swoop in to save him (though I'm glad Harry and Luna were there too). And speaking of Luna...♥♥ She was fabulous. Thanks for a great fic!

Such a wonderful read! I really love seeing the story unfold through Draco's eyes. He's grown up a bit with the cruel lot reality has dealt him, but he's still Slytherin to the core, surviving against all odds, taking what he could get, and protecting his own even to the point of throwing off Imperio.

I also like the parts with Luna in them. She's great :)

Such fun! Glad to see Luna make an appearance, with pants in hand, yet.

I thought the time of the 'Draco switched sides' fics has gone and everything written with that premise is just a repetition of already written fics. Apparently not! Loved the setting; I wonder how Draco got the idea to pose as a magician at a Muggle fair. :) I'm not really into angst-fics by default, but this had the reality to complement it, and humour to make it more bearable. Oh, and did I mention the smut? :D A fun read all in all, thank you for sharing!

Lovely story! I loved the confused yet confident Harry and Draco was just pure Draco. Well done!

So perfectly written. Characterisation, story, everything works so well....not to talk about the smut! Hawt. Amazing. Am jealous, would've wanted this beautiful thing for x-mas myself! Oh well. It appears Santa doesn't react well to "Please Santa, could you send me stories about Harry Potter having hot gay sex with former Death Eaters?"

One day...

I adored Draco's caravan, his choice to become Draco, the Magic Dragon (I had a certain song playing in the background of my mind while reading and it worked quite well: Little Harry Paper...) Draco's world was so awful and yet you made it not awful, if that makes any sense. Enough to satisfy my thirst for an all-suffering Draco, yet without victimizing him.

It was immensely fun to read, tremendous little details throughout.

Thanks!

Lovely! Very amusing and sweet, with a nice dash of mystery thrown in. Luna and Marguerite were great, as was Harry and Draco's interaction. The detail of wandless magic causing headaches was a great thread to have running through the story.

I was so looking forward to catching up with this fest because it always guarantees at least one story that will warm my heart. This year it was your fantastic story. As much as I hate the situation Draco has been put it, I love his occupation. It's an ingenious choice. I truly enjoyed reading this!

So sorry I've taken so long to read and comment - I'm way behind in my reading of the fest fics. I'd seen this recced everywhere, and with good reason! A thoroughly enjoyable, well-written, brilliantly-paced, sweet, funny, touching, scorching-hot little story. I enjoyed it immensely! I have a couple ideas on who you might be, but I'm crap at guessing authors' identities, so I won't say anything until the reveal. Thank you so much for writing and sharing this :)

Awesome. This story was so deadpan and sharp yet so sparkly. Draco's job and surroundings felt so camp and colourful and I couldn't help imagining him dressed up accordingly. So fitting that he would find a new weird, spooky family. All the people from the fair came alive with in a few words, and Marguerite was such a fantastic character. I didn't guess who the bad guy was, and that just added to the absorbing pace. Draco's work as Magic Dragon was of course cracked up and hilarious (though he's right in the final attachment and feel of safety) and of course that has to turn his saving grace. Draco Malfoy becomes not a Death Eater or the son of a Monster but the Magic Dragon capable to reject Imperius. There's such a poignancy to it. And the truth of that bit of warmth in his exile is echoed in the truth of Luna's comments about friends not being perfect. Of course they abandon one another, but they don't want to. Fantastic quote. The H/D felt real the same way -- not overly bright, but true.

Your Harry got to me, unrepressed and clever and very grabby, but still stumbling at the right times, and sure at all right times. I really liked how they kept getting close then going away or pushing the other away; it felt right, not dragging. And the sex was hot. When they decided to go, they were right into it, with no hesitations and embarrassments. There was an immediate physicality to it that I appreciated. Both were experienced without becoming invulnerable or cliche.

Your Luna was very cute, and I really liked all of Draco's clients. And his baits about things exploding. This was such a fun universe.

This is the finest example I've ever found of Draco displaying his Gryffindor tendencies! He's as crafty and sly and cunning as ever but he's knuckled down and forged his way through his wretched circumstances. Wonderful storytelling!
