Summary: Harry has a bit of a wand problem. Draco may be able to help him with the solution.

What a lucky girl I am!!! And what a fantastic treat to come home to this evening. Thank you so, SO much for this most excellent fic! There's so much I want to talk about--characterization, inventive magic, the, um, hottest sex in the world . . .

Characterization. I loved Harry in this. I thought you did an amazing job with his overall character and especially how he was affected by the Elder Wand. It felt natural and real to me. Excellent. Snape was fantastic. There's not much more I could say about him (other than he was fantastic!!). Draco--especially when in Dom mode--was really great. In canon, I've always thought that Draco is "dominant" but he's not dominant. What I mean is he's commanding, but he still looks to others for direction. You played with that brilliantly by having Snape as the Master of them all. And, given how little control Draco's had over his life, I could easily see him as the dominant in a sexual relationship with a peer. (and in the same vein, I can easily see Harry as the more submissive partner--wanting to let go).

Inventiveness. I love magical theory and you did a fantastic job of coming up with an incredible way to deal with the Elder Wand issue and make teh sex make sense--not just in a "oh, it makes sense that they're having sex now" sense, but in a characterization sense. When Draco told Harry that he held pain and let it fester, I was nodding right along. Really fantastic. Also, Draco as a wandmaker is ingenious. The ritual was fantastic and well done. It felt very three-dimensional to me. What I mean by that is that the ritual scene worked on so many different levels, touched on so many different aspects of the story. It was well integrated.

The sex. Well. What more can I say? It was amazing. I don't know if you have a lot of experience with D/s, but you you really seem to know your stuff--especially your description of subspace and what Draco did to keep Harry from falling too far down the hole. A subtle point, but an important one. And Harry's inability to experience pleasure! That was perfection! Of course this is what he would struggle with. He could take all of the pain in the world, frankly even the submission, but having to ask for what he wanted, to revel in it, to take pleasure because he wanted it--it was both a deeply shaming and deeply liberating act for him. Again--that felt very "canon" to me, in that I think Harry has always had trouble asking for what "he" wants and taking it.

I'm incredibly lucky to have received such an outstanding gift. Thank you for all of your very, very hard work on this and for taking the time to craft such a fantastic story for me.

Merry Smutmas! I'm so glad you liked it. When I read "plot" and "magical theory" on the list of things you liked, this just hit me. My beta actually made the comment that she wished she'd thought of it. I might have to expand on the plot and backstory when I re-post it myself after Smutmas is over.

I'm glad you liked the ritual. I wasn't sure how people would receive it. I've never written fireplay, but it was on your list, and it seemed like a fun challenge. Did that part work for you? I was really nervous that readers, including you, might not catch on to how I was describing sub-space as I seldom see the real effects of it shown accurately in fics. I'm glad you're knowledgeable enough about D/s to get it! I do have some experience with real-life BDSM myself... can't tell you how much until after the fest... but yes, enough to understand. Really, a good BDSM experience would be SO therapeutic for Harry, don't you think so? *devious smirk*

*waves* Just wanted to say hi, and squee again a little bit that you liked it. Now that I have more time, I'm thinking about expanding the fic, and adding a couple of scenes. I've already made a few edits, but I'd add a couple of scenes to develop the back-story more (stuff I had in my mind while writing it, but didn't have time to actually write). There's more to how Draco's personality got to the point where you see him in this story, and a fair bit of detail that I have in the back of my mind. Also, there's Harry's Auror-training going on in the background that I didn't have time to bring into the story. It plays into some of this, but I cut out that entire line of the story so that I could get it to Gina in a reasonable amount of time. I could write it now, though. Would you like that? I mean, I wrote the story for you, so I'd like to know what you think of it.

I was so relieved that you liked the fic. I was really nervous when I submitted it. It was hard to "stalk" you to see what you like because you f-lock so much of your journal!

	I'd love to see you expand this fic! It's really, really great. We could all stand to have more of this in our lives. Truly! You shouldn't have been nervous at all. LOL... I don't mean "stalking" in the creepy way. I meant just trying to look at your LJ entries to see what you like to read in fics. Furiosity wrote for me last year, and laughed so hard when she told me that she essentially stalked my LJ to find out what I liked. Well, it worked... the fic she wrote for me was PERFECT and absolutely amazing. Everything I love in a fic. But anyway, yeah, that's what I meant... just trying to be sure about what you like. I didn't mean to sound creepy, if that's what you thought.
