The Morning After Meme

Last night was pretty wild, or maybe it wasn't. You have just woken up, but you are not alone. Perhaps it is a stranger lying next to you, perhaps it's someone you know. It might be your significant other, or a one night stand. The fact remains that you are in bed together, naked (or maybe not) and something happened. Will you try to sneak away before they wake up, try for round two, or something else entirely?

HOW THIS WORKS:

1. Post with your character/prefs
2. Tag around
3. SHENANIGANS!
4. ???
5. Profit

I'm trying not to spook you. You're like a wild horse, I do one wrong thing and you take off in the opposite direction as fast as you can. [ Smiling amusedly at her own metaphor, leaning forward and propping her chin on her hand as she watches him get dressed. ] But you're running anyway, so what does it matter, I guess. Let me assuage your terror then -- I don't expect anything. We're not dating, you don't like me romantically, you regret it already, it's never happening again. I get it. You don't have to take off. We can have breakfast. Give each other pointers for future one night stands.

[Basil paused and sat back down on the edge of the bed, kind of slouched over. He turned to look over his shoulder, but didn't quite make it. This is what he didn't get about her. Did she care or didn't she. One minute she was insisting they could be right for each other. The next was... this. It was if he could never pin down who he'd be talking to, and every time he saw he he made things worse for both of them. But this... this was a big one. Sighing, he ducked down to the floor to look for his belt under the bed.]

Maybe another time.

[ Until recently, Molly would have used this as proof that Basil cared about her, even if he couldn't admit it. But she'd like to think that last conversation really got through to her and made it clear -- Bas may like her, but he doesn't, and can't, love her. Which she'll get over eventually. ]

Alright. Just... don't use this as an opportunity to freak out, okay? I got the message last time. There's nothing to read into here.

[Still kneeling on the floor, Basil folded his arms on the bed and looked over at her for the first time since getting up. Just looked. Eventually, he nodded and stood up.]

Fine. I mean. Good. No freaking, promise.

[ Goddamnit Bas, would you not do that looking thing? When you're all -- you-like and quiet Molly doesn't know what to think. ]

Well. Good. I don't want you to think... I know you don't. And that's fine. The sex was good, at least?
