Good Ending/Bad Ending meme
Do you get a happily ever after? Or a 'Rocks fall, everyone dies'? Why not both?

* Post your characters and set up two scenes. One with an ideal setting (They got what they always wanted, hit it big, became rich and famous, etc.) and one with a bad twist of events (They're homeless, everyone hates them, maybe they're even dying!).
* Others respond to one of the two settings (Or both in different comments, if they want!)
* Respond.
* ???
* Profit!!!

Just remember: no ending is set in stone, good endings can turn sour, and bad endings can be made better. Just see where it takes you and enjoy the ride!

Charles agrees with that sentiment. The further they got from this place, the better. Shaw's body would never be found, that's for certain.

It's a cold journey, good thing they have their warm thick coats. Charles follows the tracks made previously back towards where the Blackbird is parked. It's a long trip though by snowmobile and it's nearly nightfall by the time they reach the airstrip.

He brings the snowmobile to a halt near the one light in a wooden shack next to the strip.

Even with the coat, Erik's face was fairly well numb by the time they arrived. But they'd arrived in one piece, and that was really the important part, he could worry about the rest later.

Charles gets off the snowmobile and hurries to get the door open to the warmer indoors. He comes back to help Erik up and into the shack, towards the fire.

He almost lost his balance for a moment before rallying himself and remembering how legs were supposed to work, and walking too. But he sorted it out before he could topple.

He was glad to get inside at any rate, taking as deep a breath as he could manage, trying to keep alert even with the exhaustion seeping in around the edges, it had been a long day on top of an exceptionally long almost-year, and there was a good chance that he'd nodded off once or twice on the trip.

Charles gets him inside and slams the door behind them, helping him to a wicker sort of chair covered in animal furs. "Brrrr...." he tries to pull his gloves off and warm them over the flames, getting some feeling back into them. "We'll warm up and then get to the Blackbird." It may be cold but it was clear skies, they would be home before sunrise.

Erik managed to sort out his own gloves after a moment, stretching and curling his fingers, getting the blood flowing to his extremities again, "How long has it been?" The question was quiet, and clearly he didn't just mean since they'd left the crater that had once been Shaw's headquarters.

Charles pokes at the fire and rubs his hands in front of it as well. "Months...it's been months." And yet, now it didn't seem so long at all, now that Erik was safe.

He just nodded, he'd suspected as much, honestly he'd suspected longer than that, it had felt longer. He stretched his fingers again, still careful with the injured hand, reminding himself that he'd have to keep being careful with it until the torn stitches could be repaired.

"Felt longer."
