FORGE - created an element based on the powers of the Time Stone, which had been protected by the Sorcerers Supreme in their Sanctums. His shamanism and mutant engineering abilities/genius allowed him to accomplish this in secret. He used this element to power his Chronal Tracer, which shows infinite possible future timelines.

HOWARD STARK - located the Tesseract in the Arctic Ocean, studied it and replicated some of its powerful abilities to fuel his Arc Reactor. He laid down plans for his son to continue his work when he realized his progress was halted due to the technology of his time. Tony Stark later used his father's work to create a replacement for the palladium in his chest reactor with a new element (unnamed, nicknamed 'Badassium') formed from the energy of the Space Stone, which had been hidden inside the Tesseract.
