Thread: Bobby and Kitty
Who: Bobby Drake and Kitty Pryde
NPCs: ---
When: 1/17/14 [backdated]
Where: X-Force HQ, Chicago, IL
What: Bobby is angry and sad about John ditching the team and goes to see Kitty.
Rating: PG-13
Bobby waited until his last student filed out of the room with their homework assignment questions answered before let himself sink into the chair at his desk. He put his head into his hands and let out a slow breath. How could John just... not come back? This wasn't just to do with Rogue running off again, or even, Bobby guessed, entirely to do with his parents (though he still was in a state of denial that John had anything to do with their murder, even as high as the evidence was stacked against John). They'd spent years, years together as teammates and best friends. They'd graduated high school together, kept in touch after that, then come back to the same roof they'd met under to teach the next rising generation of mutants while aiding the X-Men on their quest for coexistence and the safety of innocents. How could John just leave all of that and turn his back?
"What an asshole..." Bobby muttered.
And worst of all, he wouldn't even talk to him anymore. Bobby had stopped obsessively checking his phone and his voicemail for word from John, but occasionally, like now, he reached into his pocket for the device to check for missed messages, laying his head down on his desk as he held the phone out.
Nothing.
Bobby Drake was known for being one of the more cheerful and lighthearted member of the team and there was very little that got him down - even facing off against the kinds of enemies that the X-Men had faced before. But when something did affect him, he could only hold himself up for so long before his emotions started to bleed onto his sleeve for the whole world to see. And he didn't want that. He didn't want people asking him what was wrong because he'd just get angry. He'd just snap at them and defend Pyro's actions even though no one there was condemning him. No one that he'd talked to yet, anyway. It was Friday and it was a long weekend. He had to get out of the mansion before he went crazy and the one place, the one person he wanted to go to was Kitty in Chicago.
Bobby considered texting her, thought about what he might say long and hard but decided that he better not because everything he came up with to say sounded just way too emo in his head. So he'd just drop in on her. It was Friday and she might not be in, but even the X-Force Team had stay-in nights on the eve of a long weekend, right?
So Bobby took the teleporter straight to Chicago, not even bothering to change out of his 'teacher clothes' of slacks and a dress shirt with the tie and jacket before he left Westchester, and he rang the buzzer at the door, not bothered by the frigid air on his skin.
