[Action/Open -- Voice/Private | Shelter Kitchens | Late Morning]
[Action | Shelter Kitchen | Open]

[Sasha sat quietly in the kitchen, nursing a bowlful of hot mint tea, cupping her hands over the rim and letting the vapors rise to her eyes, hoping to ease the flashes and throbbing she felt in her head.

As to why it suddenly felt warmer whereas it was snowy cold the night before, she cannot say. As to why she had suddenly found her room void of any of the items she had brought in, she doesn't want to think about at the moment. She was intent on reining the stray thoughts in, such as that she will flinch at any noise, or anyone who might happen to pass by...]

[Voice | Private]

[At the back of her mind, she knew there were newcomers and would like to wish them welcome, but the nagging throb in her head made it difficult to focus. After some tasteless but calming sips of hot tea, she gathered enough presence of mind to place a private call to the last person she had spoken to. Perhaps he can help --]

Hello...

Sam? Are you there?

(( OOC: Action's open, but Sasha cannot guarantee threads of epic ^^;; So if you need a quick and easy thread, tag away! ))

I do not recall hitting my head on anything... [If anything her eyes looked tired. But she brings a hand to paw at her head nonetheless -- she hasn't entertained that idea!]

But I had been told that this may be a side effect of Acumen "losing" me and bringing me back.

[frowns and then shrugs]

Acumen isn't really the trustworthy type is he? Damn machine can't do anything right and we're the ones who end up suffering.

[snorts]

Well, if you just returned, you won't know about the newest stunt he pulled. Turns out these engineers thought it'd be great to mess with our personalities. Don't know how they did it, but it was definitely poor taste.

[The distraction from her memories that were at best, behaving like spilled pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, was quite welcome.] Not at all. It is a construct that I have trouble understanding. It is a machine, but it is capable of doing these... strange things, as if it were casting spells. And I don't seem to have any bumps on my head...

[Ok, so that's not a pleasant surprise. Th-throb in the head...]
It-- the engineers did what? Wh-why would they do that? When did this happen?

[wrinkles her nose a little]

Last night. It sounded like it was some giant joke or another to pass along the boredom.

[shrugs and then leans in] He ain't that different then the rest of us. He just thinks he's better then us because he's made out of something other then flesh and bone. [grins] Humans, they always think they know what perfect is!

Is everybody alright? No is hurt, I hope...

["... you chose to be born in that filthy body...", "Why did you choose to sink so low by choosing to be born human?". A woman's voice rang in her head as she nips at her bottom lip, then takes a shaky sip of her tea.] A construct is only as good as the hands that made it.

I... do not suppose they do. But they have an ideal of what could be perfect -- whereas, nothing can ever be.

[She did note the lady's quip on humans, but so far, Sasha only thinks that that she's speaking in a general manner and not excluding herself from the lot.]

[furrows her brow as she tries to think] So far as I know. [which admittedly wasn't much since Bak got into her head] At least no one's mentioned anything to me about it.

[shifts a little, waiting to see if Sasha was going to pick up on her little comment or not. It was a mix of relief and exasperation when Sasha didn't. Humans... Why were they so cute?] That's... actually well put. [stares at you in surprise. She's not used to meeting strangers like you.]

I see. I suppose the Defense Force would be alerted if someone were hurt...

[Blinks up at the lady, and gives her a smile.] They strive to attain some form of perfection as well; but the form is always different, depending on who you ask.

This prison, Acumen, for the Engineers, is perfection.

But you and I can tell that this idea is not shared by all.

[She sometimes wondered about that. It seemed like they were always just the tiniest bit too late.]

Hah! That about sums that up perfectly. Although don't tell Bak that if you ever see him. He'll never shut-up about perfectionism. [Not that Sasha ever will, but, sob, he was still fresh in her mind and just there thanks to those damn Engineers.]

I'm Fou. [Be pleased. Fou doesn't give out her name all that often, unsolicited.]

My name is Sasha. [Brief incline of her head.] It is nice to meet you, Fou.

Bak... is he your friend?

[grins] Yep! But don't tell him that. [They were actually more like brother/sister, really. Or so she pretends]

The same. You've got more sense then most of the people I've meet here. [Especially her own crew :|]

Oh. [A little amused~] Then I will not. How does Bak look like?

[Little sigh. It goes with age, she supposes.] Ah. Thank you. Many people here have interesting things to share, I find. They come from such different worlds...

[gives Sasha a surprised look and then a grin] You don't like being sensible? Trust me, being an idiot isn't all that great either. [Although they are fun to beat up]

Hmm... Bak's... well Bak. [shrugs] He's a bit taller then me, has an angular face, blond hair which he likes to tie back in a queue, and he's usually wearing an earring in one ear. [She'd give Sasha the visual, but after the engineers, Fou's not much up for a joke.]

I see... [She might just be committing Bak's appearance to memory. And she is thankful for the non-visual option atm, Fou might find herself with a passed-out goddess.]

[Amused~]
It is not ... something that had been used to describe me. I have been called "foolish" many times though.

[That would've made it worth it. Except for the fact Fou's still worried Sasha might have herself a concussion of some sort.]

A fool, huh? [Finally takes a sip of that tea, knowing it's just an illusion. At least she could mime the appearance of being human, if not actually take all the benefits.] Only someone who cares says that. [smiles a bit sadly, thinking of Allen and all he's been through. Now there was a fool, through and through.]

[Fou would get a slightly surprised look, followed then by a lost kind of fond smile, thinking of the ones who had called her a fool... She takes a few more sips of her tea.] You might be right. That is... quite the nice thought.

[Alas the swimming sensation in her head was bothering her greatly. And her tea had gone lukewarm.] If you would please excuse me, I feel that I need to rest.

[Gets off from her seat.] It is nice speaking with you, Fou.

[Fou nods absentmindedly before giving Sasha a sharp look]

Che, don't stand on ceremony. If you need to lay down, go lay down!

[a brief pause and then a shrug as she reaches over to collect Sasha's dirty dishes If she'll let her]

Do you need someone to check in on you later? [Just to be safe]

[In her disoriented state, she might just be thinking that she can do the dishes later; then again, she is internally grateful for Fou taking the initiative, or she might just break something. She sighs with a smile. The brushing aside of courtesy can sometimes be refreshing.

She then shakes her head.]
No need, Fou. Thank you.

[Nearing the door --] You are... very kind. [-- and off she goes into the corridors.]
