[(tl;dr) Action // Morning // OPEN to anyone who'd have reason to be at the DF HQ]
[Two days in Marina have easily been enough to convince Kisame that he's going to have to adjust to this new place, that his old habits simply won't work here. Itachi is so different--everything is so different here, it's disconcerting. He needs..... he needs a lot of things, honestly. Samehada being one of the most important ones. But he knows that he needs a goal, or at least a job. Something to work towards, something to focus on. Something to dedicate his time and energy to, because dammit, his whole life has been spent in service in some form or another, he simply doesn't know how to stop by now. If he can't help instate a new world order--if he can't exist in the one place he's ever truly belonged in, with the only people that have ever really felt like true comrades, and have a hand in creating and shaping the world of truth that he so longs for.....]
[.....Then well, he supposes the least he can do is help make this world he's been forced into a more tolerable place to be. He knows he doesn't belong here, not in a place of justice and benevolence, heroism and protection, not with people who have goodness and humanity in their heart, who can really do their best to keep things safe and peaceful. He doesn't belong here, and he doesn't belong with them, and this isn't what he's wanted to do with his life.... but what else can he do? What else can he possibly do with himself? He just doesn't know anymore. He doesn't know, and no matter how much he smiles and laughs and gallavants around, no matter how firmly he tries to clutch the tattered remains of a bond that can never be again, the fact remains that he's still been cast adrift to be pushed along by the tide, without even oars or rudder or rigging. Maybe the currents will pull him somewhere useful, maybe they won't--but he has to try, because the possibility of becoming becalmed is absolutely, chillingly unthinkable. (If sharks stop moving, they die. Still water becomes stagnant. A broken, blunted tool with noone to use it and nothing to use it for is worse than nothing at all.)]
[Thanks to Kitty's advice, at least, he knows where to go and who to ask for. Kisame sets out soon after breakfast, and finds the headquarters without trouble; he raps briskly on the door before strolling in, with a spring in his step and a jaunty smile firmly in place. After all, this is a public building, right? He takes the time to look around as he comes in, tone upbeat even at the early hour.]
Anybody home?
[He's not entirely sure how early the people who work here come in, but he'd like to think someone should be here by now..... And if not, he can always ramble around and take a good look at the place while he finds Suzaku or Lacus' office and makes himself at home to wait. Either way, he'll get something useful out of the deal.]
