Dream Event | OPEN
The dark city is filled with an oppressive silence -- there are no people talking, no birds chirping or dogs barking, no steady drone of automobiles. If one strains they may eventually catch on to the sound of water gently lapping against a wall not too far off, a comforting bit of normality in the otherwise odd setting. But as one's eyes adjust to the light, any comfort offered by the sound of water may be quickly dissipated.
First, the location becomes clear -- it's a felled building laying on it's side at a drunkenly slanted angle, with a rust-red steel lattice tower looming high above everything else a few blocks to the west. The street and surrounding city, only dimly visible against a blood red sunset before, comes into clearer focus -- as does the destruction that's been laid out against it. Toppled, crumbling buildings lay everywhere, as to the broken skeletons of damaged highways and railroads. Those familiar with Tokyo may be able to recognize their location as such, and anyone that knows of Tokyo Tower will recognize the rust red structure looming nearby. It seems to be the only building that still stands
The lapping water proves to be lapping up against the felled building itself, and the coast has crept up in a ragged line east of the Tower, flooding into the streets and forming unnatural lakes and waterfalls in caved in bits of road.
All around are maimed and mangled bodies; of people, mostly, many of the missing their heads, but the crushed, broken, and torn apart bodies of birds can be found liberally scattered through the human remains, and feathers can be seen everywhere. Something slithery and gray may be glimpsed out of the corner of one's eye, moving restlessly through the corpses, but at any attempts to focus it and the movement abruptly ceases.
To the east, leading towards the Tower, is a broad and strangely clear path, still splattered with blood and feathers but free of actual bodies and large debris, unlike everything else in sight. Unless one is eager to go for a swim, it's the only clear path that's readily apparent -- one may even feel a gentle urging insisting that that path is the only safe one to take.
((OOC: Open! Tag in with whatever your character will do (follow the path, attempt to wade over the bodies, jump into the river) and I will reply with how the environment will change and react, and soon they'll be able to run into Kamui! The post is written in prose, but I'll be replying to all tags in [action brackets]!
Again, this dream is OPEN to everyone, but if you have any particular triggers or phobias relating to torture, murder, Christian imagery, blood/gore, injured/dead animals, and the apocalypse, please say so HERE so that I can avoid mentioning them in our thread.))
