We strongly encourage you to make this a dialogue. Find out what went into actions, decisions, and characterization and you may come to understand it better. Comments: My CR and Timelines are way out of date and I need to sit down and do them at some point. Right now Im just trying to focus on not letting my tags sit for so long. I know most of you guys are lovely for backtags but I've been more lax than I'd like. I can use life excuses to say why I get in funks and what not but I don't want to do that so… Just know I'm trying to tag more frequently.

That said my boys are making AC and staying active and I love all of my CR so far. I'm always open for any suggestions or ideas or questions or anything regarding either boy or any crit or pointers you have for Sam? Is his accent too much? Do you still hear his voice okay? Am I not getting Helix in enough trouble? Should I have Sam get caught streaking or the Winchesters figure out what he is? IDEK

	Mostly it means trouble for her. Unless others go with her? None of the creatures can get out of Sector 6 anymore, I believe. The danger is contained to that area pretty much. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

It's always great seeing your boys around and seeing what's happening next. I am actually glad you brought up Sam's accent though. I have a hard time hearing his voice when I read his tags. I think it makes me mentally overemphasize it to the point where I'm imagining someone with an accent so thick they'd be subtitling him on TV, which definitely isn't the case with him. Maybe I'm just not used to seeing accents written out to that degree in RP. It's always a weird thing to balance between letting people know there's a southern accent and then showing the degree of it. I think it's what I struggled with most when writing Spike. Also, this could completely just be me, so just take it for what it's worth.

Honestly typing it out I could take it or leave it but most of the HMD or Love comments I've had thus far about him have told me people like it. So I've kept it so far. IDK you ARE the first to say you have trouble hearing his voice and I'm not trying to shoot you down, far from it actually. I'm going to kind of hang out here and see if anyone else has anything to say or... maybe bring it up somewhere else to double-check what the overall thought is? I know most of my canonmates have mentioned they think he's spot on, so IDK what to think of the format I guess?

I mean, ignoring the way I type it out, does he seem IC otherwise?

Hey, if it's clicking with the majority then that's great. I mean it's not like it's the wrong accent. I just end up giving it too much power when I read through it that way which could just be on me.

Otherwise, I think the only thing that seemed kind of off to me was when he was pressing my Sam on beer selection which could have been any number of things to keep the conversation going or what have you. I guess I think of Merlotte as more laid back (when he isn't throwing a hissy fit and firing all the waitresses or shooting his brother). More of a "remove lid, have beer" kind of guy then someone who is gong to discuss hopps with someone who isn't interested. But it's been awhile since I saw the first 3 seasons and I haven't seen season 5 yet, and it isn't something I was watching for. Orgies are so distracting! But really that was just one moment that could have come from many different kinds of motivation, so it's really not anything.

Mn, none of that ever really comes up, like they don't really show any real drink conversation go on at the bar at all that I can remember. As far as showing Sam being a bartender/salesman in any fashion and talking to his customers.

That was kind of my own personal spin tbh? Working at two places who had bars, one of which was specifically selling beer that they literally brewed a few minutes outside the city/location of the store? I just kind of took it from that. And it wasn't really meant to be a "pressing" so much as conversation and getting to know his customer or what he likes so he can just give him something good or something new!

And the motivation behind that is not only cause he owns a bar and would be good with his customers and what they'd want, but also they're going to be there a long time and a normal beer gets boring after a while. Especially since Sam mentioned that he couldn't really "afford" to try new things and knowing the price of some alcohol/liquor/beer or what have you, the good stuff is pricier. So it really was meant to be something casual while showing his knowledge and showcasing that he definitely owned a bar before coming to Marina and opening one up?

I don't know, I wasn't sure it clicked like I wanted to and it's pretty clear it didn't and I felt bad putting you on the spot if you don't know beer. I had to learn myself seeing as I didn't drink beer until I worked somewhere that sold it. I got a free pint every shift so I got to learn what I like and what not. There are a lot of people that just know beer and are specific about their beer like they are about coffee or food. So IDEK... culture clash? No idea.

As far as if it were OOC or IC it's hard to say, it's head canon for sure. My own personal spin. I'm sorry if it was a bad spin. Again, you're not wrong I will definitely keep your opinion in mind.

I think... all in all maybe it was just a bit too much reality in our RP maybe? Cause that is what a good bartender/beer guy does, they talk to their customers to learn their tastes so they can suggest or pour the thing they'll like.

ordering a beer at a bar you're going to get the question of what kind? or what brand? You can't just order a beer in reality.

Again, could just be too much reality in our RP in that case.

You already know how much I love your tags and characterization and all that, just like you know how much I adore the teal deers... but on that note I actually do have something to point out.

At times, your tags tend to get a little too heavy on the information side. Introspection is all fine and dandy and you should definitely know by now how happy I get when there's a big brick of words in my inbox, but at times the dialogue can be a bit too much. I get that your character has a lot to say and sometimes it's appropriate to go on a ramble but others... it gets hard to tag it back cause there's so much to respond to and then you lose the natural flow of a conversation. Some tags could benefit from being chopped up into several chunks so the other character has a chance to respond without making a bullet list out of it.

It's not something that happens a lot but it's something I've noticed happening on and off recently, so I figured you should know!
