siren clams + strong emotions + emotion-reader = ????
So I uh... realized like yesterday that these Siren Clams are really screwing up emotions for everyone and since I play someone who senses emotions, especially strong ones, maybe I should do something with that. Whoops.

ANYWAY Basically, Deanna here is the resident counselor and she's also am empath. She can kinda read emotions like telepaths read thoughts, except she doesn't often get the whys behind the emotions. So if your character has a Siren Clam and you're okay with Deanna sensing the weird / strong / good / bad / otherwise emotions your character has, let me know on this post, on her permissions post or by ematil! Maybe Deanna just happens to pass by them somewhere in the dome. Maybe they have an actual conversation. Maybe they come to her for a therapy session. Anything goes! I am really open with this and kind of hitting myself for not doing something with it earlier.

If you want to know more about her abilities, her permissions post is here. But if you'd like to play around with an empath and see where it goes, I could definitely see Deanna starting to keep track of these emotions and probably the pearls, too, since Anya came to talk to her about them and she saw Mal rolling one around his hand the day she got the SUPER ANGRY emotions from him.

So yes, tl;dr

Siren Clam emotions + emotion-reader = POTENTIAL PLOT STUFF???

This is awesome. Kitty has a pearl (happy) but she's been having such terrible things going on that it's really just helping to keep her going more than making her ridiculously happy or anything at this point. Still, it'll continue to intensify left unchecked and when things aren't DRAMA she'll be pretty happy and fun loving.

Sam does NOT have a pearl, but has had occasion to interview people about their pearls when they mentioned them in unusual contexts so he is suspicious and interested in the subject so it might be good for them to talk!

Also, Artemis has one for greed and Euphie has one for impulsiveness.

Awesome! They're also both on the investigative team for that connection. I think he's probably held off on mentioning it to the team thus far just because he's used to being on his own and isn't sure what it is that's going on yet. (Plus, they were directed Tyki-wards so he is working on that too.)

	Yeeees I can't wait to see where that goes! Oh yes! That's also good. More points for her going to Sam with this. I think if she ends up seeing more people with pearls and getting stronger and stronger emotions from them, she'll probably want to see if anyone else has experience with it, too. I would love for Deanna to notice Jack being extra angry aggressive from his red pearl! That has been publicly fairly noticeable, I think, what with his sparring proposition and the announcement of punishment for assault and injury that followed (I must get on to that punishment, actually!) and Deanna's probably also been around him a bit at the DF.

He's being fairly secretive about his pearl because he doesn't want anyone to take it away from him, but she might have noticed him rolling it between his fingers or something at some point when he didn't think anyone was looking.

I am totally up for a thread at some point if you want to thread anything out, but preferably not for a week or two as I've just started a new job so don't really want to start anything more till I've got some brain energy back! Tieria doesn't have a pearl as of our current thread, but he's going to be getting a purple (pride) one before their next meeting. So, she's welcome to notice a big boost in his egotistical side. It's not hard to do. He used to be that way naturally. LOL

Piper is unusually happy because of her pretty pink pearl, but I'm not sure how much CR we want to handwave there that Deanna would notice how happy Piper is. Plus, I know we wanted to consider the whole "I miss my husband, too" misery loves company thing. However, if the topic comes up and Piper doesn't seem very affected by it, it would likely be a warning sign.

Kitty is also super prideful right now with a purple pearl. She hasn't let it go to her head just, yet, but she's really overly enthusiastic about how great everything she does is at the moment.

Duo doesn't have a pearl, yet, but Deanna would have met him at least once to get her welcome basket. However, I'm thinking of giving him either a black pearl or a red pearl. So, while he's normally a pretty weird bundle of emotions that tries to mostly exhibit outgoing and cheerful ones, having him suddenly be angry all the time or completely empty would be really odd. I'll probably make a note of which one he has if we have them run into each other after he gets it.

	ahahaha oh man. That'll be great. Let's not go the handwaved route. Deanna can do this one the long and old-fashioned way :) So she can do warning signs. That'll be perfect. I love all of this.
