We strongly encourage you to make this a dialogue. Find out what went into actions, decisions, and characterization and you may come to understand it better. Hopefully, you'll also be in the best position to clearly communicate your own concerns. Results will be more satisfactory for everyone if one person isn't on the offensive while the other is on the defensive.

Avoid leaving someone a wall of text. This can be intimidating even with the most careful of wording and best of intentions.

Don't gang up on someone. You may have a different way of wording something, but unless you have something new to contribute, consider letting it go if there are already others saying it.

Be constructive and considerate.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with Helen. I feel like we've kept trying to get CR going but I've been admittedly awful about replying to tags. I'll definitely hit that post up with Elena! Also, maybe this might help, if you're interested? I have to check with Amy too, but Elena feels like Helen is the person to go to, at the clinic. She can find out Elena's a vampire finally.

Also, I'm so entirely interested in any Deanna and Elena CR considering if anyone needs counseling, it's Elena. She probably wouldn't be willing at first, but after some time and getting to know Deanna, she'd open up. I think you're doing a great job with the counselor stuff though. I'm not one myself but I have been reading your threads. :)

Ooo yes! I would be absolutely interested in that :) I think I've mentioned it before but Helen has helped another vampire when he "turned" so to speak (it's more complicated in Sanctuary canon and Nikola's only half-vampire, but it's fairly similar in practice), so she would absolutely be willing to help Elena deal with that.

Yes! And thank you! I'm trying to draw on what I remember her doing and saying in canon with what I know and do (since I'm very much the type to help), but I'm not like trained in this sort of thing, so it's kind of a balancing act that I'm still working the kinks from. But that makes me feel better about it :) I would absolutely be up for Deanna and Elena getting to know each other and talking. We'd probably also have to work out whether or not Deanna would be able to pick up emotions from TVD vampires since I don't think there's anything similar in TNG canon that Deanna's run across. (I'm more inclined to say no for a variety of reasons and that would definitely make Deanna more interested in finding out more about Elena if they ever meet in person.)

Yes! We've discussed that before. :) Having someone besides Damon as a baby vamp mentor would be very beneficial for Elena. I mean, look at Damon. ;)

I can kind of relate! There are plenty of seasons of Elena being compassionate/sympathetic towards others, but it can be challenging sometimes. I'm afraid she's too caring/not enough or too empathetic/not enough sometimes. I think it'll take time but you'll get it. :) Maybe some basic research of counseling and comparing that to her canon actions might help you feel more at ease?

I'm totally okay either way about Deanna picking up on Elena's emotions! But the idea that she wouldn't might be more intriguing!

Hmm. I think it would be more interesting if she couldn't? Because the only beings she normally can't read are androids and holograms, so if she couldn't sense anything from Elena (or maybe very, very weakly pick up on something?) she would be very confused and very intrigued. But I am game either way!

I will cheer you on! *\o/* Challenging characters are the best.

Let's go with senses very little or not at all. Elena's not technically human, but she is living. TVD's vampire species came about because of magic/a curse so I don't know if that helps or informs the decision anymore. Either works for me so we can just go with whatever fits our canons best? I'm leaning towards very little sensing based on that.

	They really are XD they're just a little more problematic than most. /nodnod. I do remember that much from watching up through S4 for Liz XD It's still more supernatural than I think Trek canon deals with? So I'd be more inclined to say very little, especially since her abilities are toned down here. It would certainly be more interesting. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
