[Why do you have to point these things out and make him speechless for a moment, trying to justify why hiding her existence is just what he has to do. It's for her sake, alright? Right? To keep her safe? Or is it because it's just a little painful to see her face, knowing he left her alone in the world. Maybe he got a little too attached to the little brat but he's not yet up to admitting it. He's just. Quiet.]

I left her alone. She deserved better.
