He's still screaming when he finds himself, abruptly, suddenly, somewhere new.

He blinks up at a leafy canopy, dazed, while a voice in his ear informs him he's in some kind of prison. And the funny part is, he's not entirely surprised. He is, however, very confused. He was expecting something more drab, gray walls, bars on cells, that kind of thing.

Also troubling was that he can't remember how he got here.

"Must have passed out," he mutters, sitting up slowly. That makes the most sense. He had been standing on the roof of a moving train car, Ardyn at the business end of his pistol. And then his best friend was knocking the gun from his hand and shouldering into him. The next thing he knew he was falling.

Throat tight, he moves one hand over the other and finds his glove and bracelets are missing. He looks around nervously and tugs the sleeve over the mark on his wrist.

He should be injured from that fall, but he feels fine. Physically, he feels fine. There's a weight on his ankle. He prods at it, but he's never seen tech like this. His clothes are gone, replaced by some kind of orange jumpsuit. He pats himself down, but everything he would have had on him is missing, including the camera. He feels a bit like crying. All those memories, gone.

A sound behind him has him spinning on his knees into a defensive crouch, his hand flying up and grasping ... nothing. His gun doesn't materialize and his fingers close on thin air.

He laughs nervously and lowers his hand. "Sorry, dude. Um, I come in peace?"

[The communicator is easy to figure out, once he stops gawking at the dome and all its wonders - still not entirely convinced it's not a coma dream as he lays dying on the train tracks - and takes the time to mess with it. If he's going to be here a while, he might as well get to know the population.

He opens up the feed with a wide smile.]

Hey! Prompto here. This is ... something, huh? Not what I would expect of an Imperial prison. Honestly, I was expecting something more bleak. You know, cells, guards, creepy experiments...

Is...is this some kind of experiment?

[His voice wavers and his smile falters.]

"I was ... kind of? paying attention."

Though he was pretty distracted by the change in scenery and clothes, so everything after the introduction went in one ear and out the other.

"I, uh. I'm going to have to let that sink in, pal."

He would think he was being messed with, but he can't think of any reason why a total stranger would lie to him about something like this. And he does recall some mention of VR, now that he thinks about it. It hadn't registered.

"So wait. If there are regular clothes here, and this is all virtual, why even bother with the monkey suit?" He points to the orange thing he arrived in.

"That is a good question."

Neil shrugs, even rubbing the back of his neck a little.

"I suppose they have to make their point about this being a prison. In case anyone doubts it."

He sighs, and waves a hand up at the dome around them. "This place sometimes makes no sense at all. But it isn't so bad, the rest of the time."

"I guess that makes sense. Nothing else about this place seems like a prison."

Case in point, stores. "Not so bad, huh? I'm surprised how nice it looks. Room to move around. Are there a lot of prisoners here?"
