Day 412 The rewind

So that...happened.

I've been here for awhile and for those of you who are on the newer side of things, I wish I had some keen insight for you, but that's just one of the games they play. It was kind of a remix of some of their old ones. [She's seen people remember more future before and seen people think they were connected to others in new ways. She had a husband for a day once before.] I think it's just important to remember who you are without their toying and lean on people when you need to. We're in this together.

I don't think what we saw was a real future even if parts of it seemed like they were. There were some conflicting outlooks. Of course, that hasn't stopped me from trying to remember exactly how we overthrew them in mine. [It hasn't stopped her from thinking about a lot of things it brought up.]

Anyway... [She hopes you're all okay. She would have been better at saying that yesterday when it was still twenty years from now. So, she just ends the feed there and you might find her out and about looking particularly thoughtful. Maybe absently walking through solid objects including you! As one does.]

[Before her broadcast or any other calls there is just a girl waking up next to a boy. Everything feels right at first. She snuggles closer and the details don't feel important. Are they still in the future? Was yesterday a dream or an experiment? It doesn't matter yet. She's only half awake and warm and comfortable.]

Me too. I'm mostly worried about being...clumsy with his heart. [She would never intentionally hurt him, but she's been hurting for so long and just trying to pick up the pieces and take care of herself that getting into a mode where she needs to be mindful of his heart too is important and needs to be done right.]

That's a poetic way of putting it. [And one that he very much sympathizes with right about now. Just once he wishes he could manage a relationship where he isn't constantly worried about ruining it for everyone involved.]

We need more boring lives. I'm getting a little tired of the drama. [Sometimes the excitement of it all makes it worth it but most of the time he hates it.]

Mmm, what do people usually do when they start getting boring? We could try doing those things. See if it balances it out. [Kidding, but he's not wrong. She wouldn't mind some time to just be herself and not have anything going off the rails.]

I think they avoid things like polygamous relationships, emotionally decistationg arguments and saying I love you for the first time thanks to fake time travel. [Hard to keep the bitterness entirely out of his voice.]

Right. [Who even knows how it all fits together? Shhh. He finds he doesn't want to ask how Jack is. It hasn't been long, he doubts there's any updates.] Thank you for trying to be a good friend to both of us. I may be angry at him, but I appreciate that.

[Badly of course, but she doesn't volunteer it either.] You've both been great friends to me. I wouldn't have gotten here without you both. And you've always been really understanding. [Considering that she and Jack have had some non-platonic moments in their friendship.]

[As complicated as it all is the sleeping around really isn't his biggest problem with Jack. Knowing the people he's involving himself with certainly makes it harder than when it's strangers but he can live with it. It's just that everything seems to add up to be so complicated in the end.]

Well in any case I appreciate you taking the time to listen. I should probably get back before Spike hears about all this from someone besides me.
