[Day 397][Video|Action|Open]
[If you are in Sector 4 near the gardening plots, you might have heard the sound of bees buzzing along without a care near their hive, but it wouldn't last. There would be a shout of surprise and then another that was a curse of pain, and footsteps stumbling along. Look in the right direction and you'd see a young man with a mess of long hair flinging his arms around as he fought off the bees he'd unintentionally angered by waking up right next to their hive and knocking into it when he woke up, confused and disoriented, sending several of its inhabitants into a tizzy.]

Damned little demons!

[He's even more confused as to why the stings of the bees hurt--or why he can't simply use his speed to outrun them--but his main priority will be getting away from them and then trying to get some answers. But in his hurry he maybe tramples over some of the nearby gardening plots and doesn't see the people who might be nearby while he's trying to shake the enraged insects off his trail and out of his hair.

He barely notices the device on his head before he grabs it and swings it at them, like a weapon that he doesn't have. Public Video turns on just in time to see him trip over his own two feet while whipping his hair out of his face to see the enemy. The device drops to the ground and he scrambles to his feet, body tense, slit pupils contracted and teeth pulled into a near snarl. It might almost look like he's been in a real fight.]

How many of you are there?!

[Lyle just so happened to be passing by, his green haro in tow. He was really just passing, not intending to go to the gardens, but then he heard the yelp and the curse at the bees. Naturally both he and Frederick the haro stopped to look.

Well, he'd heard of people waking up in strange locations, but next to the bees had to be a new one. The poor guy, just flailing at them as he tried to get away from them. Well, he might have thought he was still trying to get away until he started swinging his communicator only to fall.

This didn't seem to be ending well...]

Stop flailing at them and get inside!

[Luckily, there was the art center and few stores not too far away. If he has to though, he'll see if Frederick can provide some distraction since he can't be hurt by bees]

[A voice calls out and A'oran looks up to see a man standing not too far away just as he smacks away another bee that was aiming to sting him between the eyes. He looks towards the nearest building and makes a run for it, kicking the communicator and looking down at it, not sure exactly what it is, but grabbing it anyway. It may be a clue.

Another bee gets him in the neck and he shakes his hair out again, hoping he's finally free of them. His chest is heaving, adrenaline pumping and he's not stopping until he's on the other side of the spectator, having no qualms about potentially using him as a distraction.]

What manner of hell is this?

[Oh great. Thanks. Use him as a distraction for the bees. Don't worry; Frederick's on it, rolling around to make himself a distraction if there were any still following]

Somehow you disturbed the bees. They are just trying to tell you to move away from their home the only way they can. Flailing at them doesn't work.

[And if the bees are still following, Lyle is going to prompt that they continue for one of the buildings with a door. If not, he'll stay there and wait for Frederick to come back]

[Thankfully the bees aren't straying that far from their hive and they are enough of a distance away that the distraction of the little ball...thing, is enough. A'oran takes in a deep breath, needing to collect himself--however well that will do considering he's just made a fool of himself in front of a man he doesn't even know.]

I awoke to being attacked by them. [It comes out through a tightened jaw.] My question was as to why that would happen when there were no bees even near where I was before I slept.

[Frederick is a good distraction and not concerned at all by bees.

Lyle really is tempted to say "suuuure you woke up being attacked by them". He already knew bees didn't operate that way, but he probably didn't recall what he had done to make them made either. So they will go on to the next and most frequently asked question on new arrival day]

That's because you aren't where you went to sleep before. This is Marina. Think of it as a reverse fish tank. Someone, in their infinite wisdom, has decided it is better for you be here in prison than home in your own world. The same with all of us. No trial, no discussion, we just wake up here.

You'll probably find the welcome message as well as your supposed list of crimes on your communicator when you put it back on. Rather than waving it around like a weapon.

[Can't remember that he almost knocked their hive over, nope, not at all. But it's hard to be focused on that when he's being told he's in prison of all places! A prison that happens to look like a royal resort.]

I do apologize, but I believe that our definitions of "prison" are very different. [He lifts the device he'd been carrying and looks it over. It doesn't resemble the communication devices he was slowly becoming familiar with after being freed.]

But even so, I thought these were meant to have screens for which to touch. [He taps the see through screen that goes over the eye, but nothing comes up.]

You are correct. This is different than any prison I know as well, but it is still a prison. We aren't able to leave anytime that we want.

No, these don't have touch capability. [So Lyle will take his off and show him the buttons on side and how they work]

That's how you use this.

[Frederick is back now, the bees done following him around and he leans against Lyle's leg while they talk]

[He appears much calmer now than he had been, although putting on that air is much easier than truly being that collected and composed. He listens as best he can while the man explains the device and how to use it, but truly all he can think about the fact he's been told he's trapped. Locked away once more. The idea that it's under the sea isn't even that unimaginable. The world he had found himself in just a few weeks before was full of sights he had never expected.

But a prison... He lets out a noise of interest to stop himself from possibly breaking the device.]

Such a small, strange device. Why would they care enough to provide such a luxury to their prisoners?

It's strange. We are prisoners in the sense that we can't leave, but for some people, they have it better here than they do at home so they wouldn't leave if they were given choice. We don't really have phones so these communicators works as that.

They also have a map for the dome and the like. The wardens want to reduce the amount of people who ask them questions.

[It'll be some time before there is a response, as he escapes his tormentors and then finally looks at the device to see what it is and what it can do. The menu directions are very useful indeed.

Then he realizes that he had broadcasted himself being utterly besieged by the terrible insects and has likely made a complete fool of himself. What sort of divine punishment must he be experiencing right now?

But to completely ignore it would be to act as if he is ashamed and in need of hiding. Certainly they would take his lack of response as a sign of humiliation? So respond he will.]

[Casually.] Chuck isn't going to like you messing with her bees. [Another observer to his complete mortification. A'oran wonders if it would be too late to ask for solitary confinement in this forsaken prison. Less chance of waking up to humiliating himself.]

More or less. [He may have also not-entirely accidentally punched the hive when he woke up, out of pure confusion and attempting to get a bee to leave him alone.]

One would think the protocol for a prisoner's orientation would be a processing room rather than random locations that amuse the wardens.

[So his own conclusions were accurate enough, but that didn't change the fact that he had little idea of what to do now. At least she seemed to move on from the humiliating situation he's managed to find himself in easily enough. It made it easier for him to collect himself and maintain the composure he had been airing before.]

Am I to assume this...attire and its accessories are also part of their jest? I've seen no one else dressed as I am.

[Luke wishes he had Jacen's animal skills and wonders if they'd work on these creatures anyway.]

I think it only gets worse if you flail around like that. It'll just make them more angry.

[He tries to push them back with the Force, hoping to give the guy time to get away.] Can you get inside someplace?

[A'oran doesn't particularly care if they're angry, as long as the little vicious things leave him alone, but he tries to calm down, shaking them from his hair and out of the hideous orange jumpsuit he's wearing. He keeps stepping away, maintaining a steady pace that wasn't too fast but wasn't exactly slow either. Thankfully the bees seem to have turned back, no longer following him.

He looks towards the man who had been speaking to him, but manages not to release the retort about how "useful" that information is when one is already under attack. A'oran doesn't know him or what he's capable of. He needs more information.]

Perhaps they've tired of tormenting the newcomer to their world.

I'm trying to hold them back...it's something I'm able to do. I just don't know for how long I can keep doing it, especially with this place dulling everything. [He glances at the man, then back at the bees] I'm hoping long enough for you to get under cover somewhere.

[He was more skilled these days, but over-using the Force still led to exhaustion, there was no escaping that. And he was still slightly dampened in here, his powers not as strong as back home.]

[He keeps moving himself away from their vicinity, not put off by the idea that this man has power enough to drive them away, but still on edge due to his own abilities being absent.]

Are they intelligent enough to have such grudges as to chase me even after being held at bay?

[He knows very little about bees to know what they are capable of besides being utter nuisances when not doing their natural roles of pollinating and creating honey.]
