[ If he wasn't restricted to lyrics alone he'd have a lot to say right now, about how Jack is so impatient and if he really wants to see a tease they could stop this right now, no problem. Luckily for both of them, perhaps, there's no time for that. Instead Spike merely grins and goes down with the pull. He'll slide out of game face sooner or later, not wanting the demon to have too much of a field day, but this is fine for now. He resumes the kiss with great lust, both regular and blood, leg nesting in between Jack's to put some much needed pressure against his crotch. ]

[Yeah, he's not above using Spike's temporary speech problem to his advantage today. Though right now, he's really not interested in talking. They've done a lot of talking and this, here, right now, feels like they're communicating so much more clearly.

His current way of communicating is to arch breathlessly against that knee Spike brings up between his legs, groaning at the pressure that brings him, and bite into the kiss, tasting blood for the first time that's not his own.]

[ They really should focus more on physical communication. As poetic as he can be, this is when he's at his clearest, during a fight or a fuck and with Jack he's never quite sure which is which. That's the part that works with them, the one thing that's easy to get swept up in and that's exactly what he does right now, gets lost in the heat and blood and pulsating life that is Jack Harkness.

There's only one problem, the very reason why he's tried to keep himself on such a short leash lately and between the bites and the blood he can feel the demon burn and rage in his chest, overwhelmingly so. He doesn't trust himself, can feel control slip through his fingers and so he pulls back where he wants to dig in, eyes screwed shut as he tries to reel it back in. Fuck. ]

[Well, this whole thing started with physical communication - way, way back on their first in-person, mistletoe bot-enhanced encounter - and if Jack had had his way it would probably have remained their main method of communication! Though it's almost certainly a good thing that Spike didn't go along with that. They did need a fair bit of actual talking, after all, to get to where they are now.

And where they are now is fantastic, all the more so for being relatively unexpected. So much so that it's a moment before he realises Spike has frozen in place, his eyes squeezed shut and a look of fierce concentration on his demon-featured face.

He sinks back gently onto the table and peers up at Spike, the hand that had been wrapped around his head relaxing to just stroke a bit, soothingly.]</small>

Hey. Everything all right?

[ He shakes his head - no - though maybe it's just as much an attempt to shake this off. It's fucking frustrating and a part of him wants to just press on and see what happens but if something would happen he'd never be able to live with himself. Even if Jack would be back in a flash, he can't do this anymore. Ducking his head, Spike pushes off the pool table and makes some distance, back turned to Jack as he rakes his fingers back through his hair.

They'll have to pick this up some other time, looks like. ]

[He lets him go, however regretfully. He's starting to learn that Spike needs to do things his way if they're to be done at all, and there's no point in trying to force them.

He pushes himself up to sitting again, adjusting himself carefully, and watches Spike pacing, trying to work out what just happened.]

Spike, talk to me. [If he can find the words.]

Too much, too soon?

[ He shakes his head again — no, not talking about this right now, he has enough on his plate just reeling it in. He also doesn't want to admit to the too much, too soon, too fast because that's how he lives his life and needing to stop in the middle like this because his lack of strength is a harder blow to his manliness than he cares to think about.

He keeps his back to Jack, heading for the exit. ]

Oh, can't you see I'm out of my head.

All right. [He grits his teeth, and lets him go. What else can he do? He watches Spike's departing back, wishing he had the skills (and Spike had the vocabulary) to suss this out, but Spike's obviously struggling for control and he's probably right that later would be better.

With a heavy sigh, he slides off the table and takes a minute to re-rack the balls and put the cues away, to give Spike a good head start before setting off for home.]
