I think we could all use a distraction.

[Or maybe that's just her thinking about how it's been awhile since the wardens have launched something at them. The kites barely seem to count. Is something big coming? are they just counting down the days until 400? Another anniversary festival or something...worth waiting for? In probably all the wrong ways.]

So, let's play a game. It's called I Never. It's usually a drinking game, but I'll leave the type of beverage up to you. All ages. [As if anyone stops the kids from drinking booze here anyway.]

I'll say "I never went to prison." If you have gone to prison—and spoiler alert, you have—then you drink. If you're not using video then figure something else out or stop being so difficult. The objective is to find things out about each other while not getting too drunk or hydrated yourself, so normally you'd pick a true statement for yourself so you don't have to drink. But that's really up to you. [She might drink a lot just because she's done a lot of things.]

I'll start us off, I never shoplifted...from a store that hadn't already been abandoned.

That's hard for me to picture. [She loves pretty intensely when she loves. Then again there's no allure left in her home. If there was still a world to go back to, a team, a family... Maybe she'd do the same. When it came to living in a dying world with Piotr or destroying everything for the chance of something better where they might not be together at all she took it. Even when it cost her everything or would have if the wardens hadn't abducted her. Rescued her.]

Both. [She was only thinking of the choice but since he asks the other part is hard to picture too.] The parting on good terms too. Though I guess we got a lot closer the third time around. [Fourth? She lost count. Maybe it just felt better to her because she was the one letting go.]

But the other choice is just death or love for me now, so I guess that makes it easier.

It was strange with Lucy and I. For the eighteen months that we were together, we knew that we wouldn't see each other again once we escaped from the City. There was no expectation that we would have forever. [On Chekov's end, at least. Lucy may have fooled herself into thinking otherwise.]

Death and love aren't your only choices, although I would not discourage you from choosing love. [Which is as close as he's going to get to that word as far as they're concerned for now.]

[She doesn't drink but she does reach up to start playing with his hair absently.] Definitely not that. My parents were already a little worried with how much time I spent in dance classes on top of building computers from scratch and taking apart appliances and putting them back together to see how they worked. They weren't trying to throw extra things at me except maybe eating and rest.

I never kissed a guy who works in space before. [Kissing before drinking.]
