Day 395 Open Video
Video | Open

I think we could all use a distraction.

[Or maybe that's just her thinking about how it's been awhile since the wardens have launched something at them. The kites barely seem to count. Is something big coming? are they just counting down the days until 400? Another anniversary festival or something...worth waiting for? In probably all the wrong ways.]

So, let's play a game. It's called I Never. It's usually a drinking game, but I'll leave the type of beverage up to you. All ages. [As if anyone stops the kids from drinking booze here anyway.]

I'll say "I never went to prison." If you have gone to prison—and spoiler alert, you have—then you drink. If you're not using video then figure something else out or stop being so difficult. The objective is to find things out about each other while not getting too drunk or hydrated yourself, so normally you'd pick a true statement for yourself so you don't have to drink. But that's really up to you. [She might drink a lot just because she's done a lot of things.]

I'll start us off, I never shoplifted...from a store that hadn't already been abandoned.

(OOC: It's not a mingle, but you can feel free to threadjack others!)

Action | Closed to Chekov
[Not long after the video goes up there's a knock at his door. On the other side is Kitty, looking a more put together than usual and carrying a couple of bags. One has liquor. The other has food. What do?]

Kija you idiot. No one else here even knows what the hell it is in the first place.

[Slowly takes a sip. . .]

Do not be rude. [Noticing the sip he frowns heavily.] How could you doubt the legend? That is impossible. You are a dragon yourself just like me.

You do remember how I had mentioned upon our meeting that I had worked over the years to suppress my presence from you and the other dragons, right? I still acknowledge it.

So then you did not doubt it.

Maybe not exactly that, but it's still ridiculous in my opinion.

[ Why do you have to worry so much about the details, Jae-Ha! You still believed. He believes this deep down...!! ]

Then you would rather that you were not a dragon?

[Kija is the one taking this too seriously.]

It's not that. I love my ability. [. . . .] And being around and traveling with all of you. That's what matters the most to me.

[So difficult... in the end he deflates.]

Ultimately, it is the same thing, is it not?

[He honestly doesn't mean to be brash.]

Maybe. Maybe not. I absolutely do not like the idea that dragons don't live for very long, either.

[Ah- well that is an entirely different can of--

You know what? No. No bug analogies.

It's a different... complex problem, isn't it?]

I wouldn't disagree with you regarding that. [Jae-Ha is the oldest among them... although that doesn't always mean something. The age can differ from one to the next.]

But there is nothing we can do about that problem. [He saw how time ravished his father's body until his very last breath. He had hardly been an old man when he died.] All that we can do... is be grateful for the time that we have, and the fact that we among so many before us are truly able to exorcise our power to it's fullest extent. We have much to be grateful for. [When so many hundreds of others never had the opportunity that they do.]

I am grateful that I have the privilege to follow after the princess. And that I have met and get to keep the company of Ouryuu, Seiryuu, and Ryokuryuu. And due to that, I have met Yoon and even Hak. There is more to celebrate than to worry over.

[He both listens and watches Kija in silence as he replies. Which is far more than really even needs to be said, and not in a bad way. Jae-Ha wonders a little if he actually realizes something.]

That's all that I mean to say.

[He pauses, however only so brief.]

I don't care for a tale - nor anything else - that supposedly decides my fate for me. Not once in my twenty-five years have I ever. So maybe it did lead you guys to meet me, that much is true. But that didn't automatically mean I was going to join you. That was something I chose for myself.
