I think we could all use a distraction.

[Or maybe that's just her thinking about how it's been awhile since the wardens have launched something at them. The kites barely seem to count. Is something big coming? are they just counting down the days until 400? Another anniversary festival or something...worth waiting for? In probably all the wrong ways.]

So, let's play a game. It's called I Never. It's usually a drinking game, but I'll leave the type of beverage up to you. All ages. [As if anyone stops the kids from drinking booze here anyway.]

I'll say "I never went to prison." If you have gone to prison—and spoiler alert, you have—then you drink. If you're not using video then figure something else out or stop being so difficult. The objective is to find things out about each other while not getting too drunk or hydrated yourself, so normally you'd pick a true statement for yourself so you don't have to drink. But that's really up to you. [She might drink a lot just because she's done a lot of things.]

I'll start us off, I never shoplifted...from a store that hadn't already been abandoned.

	It worries me, yes, but this is also the fourth time in eight-hundred thirty days that I have met him in a prison. He never remembers the other times and he never stays for long. There's something that he wants and it's to kiss her, so he does so. He's bolder than he has been; it's a kiss that says what I want is you, not one that asks for permission.]

[Kitty is smiling at that comment. He can be funny when he wants to be. Of course thinking about that means she's expecting that kiss even less. And yet with the way she responds readily to it you'd almost think she was. She tightens her grip on his shirt and kisses back fully, surprising herself in the process. No wardens' games here—just her and Pavel reacting to each other.]

[Nanoseconds after acting, it had occurred to Pavel that it would be incredibly awkward if he'd read the situation wrong. Happily, Kitty seems very into it—more than he'd anticipated since he expects a certain amount of holding back on her part.

This is good. Maybe this is Kitty acting on what she wants, too.

He places his hands on her shoulders and, after another moment, breaks the kiss to gauge her reaction. There's only so much caution he's willing to throw out the window. He needs to know that she's here and doing what she wants, not just what she feels compelled to do.]

[Although Chekov wouldn't object to more kissing, it doesn't feel like the way to go. Until Kitty showed up at his door, he hadn't even been sure that kissing was a thing they were going to doing again. Small steps.]

The rule is to drink when the statement isn't true, correct? I have never played a drinking game in a prison before today. [He takes the shot. No one said that the object of the game is to not drink as much as possible.]

	Not in this prison, no. I played one similar to this twice in the other prison—once with Lucy, once with Korra and Hei. I had disappointingly few opportunities to drink both times. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
