[It had taken a fair bit of effort to put everything together, but none of it that wasn't enjoyable. While Zero did do a majority of the cooking, the others helped out here and there. In retrospect, the sheer amount of foods and ingredients he picked up the day before wasn't too much at all. In a general sense Zero made sure that the apartment was well stocked.

Unlike breakfast the other day, tonight their meal is set up more like a buffet, with a good variety of dishes, some of which he's only recently learned how to make. Plenty of meat and fish, a few noodle dishes, salads, etc etc. In hopes it would maybe get Ichiru to at least stop by, too, Zero made the tomato soup that they both used to love when growing up.

Dessert is of course provided as well. More specifically, a sundae bar. A little later on after they've eaten he'll set up the bowls, ice cream, and fixings along the counter.]

[Games]

[With dinner done the family can settle in for the evening to talk and truly spend some time together. Legs curled up, she feels rather happy and excited to have so much of their family here. Even Ichiru had been dragged to the event.

The fact that he's shown up is a win all in itself.

But there's no reason for the fun to end. Glancing around, she tilts her head in thought.]

What if we play a game? Charades, Shiritori, or anything like that. Unless someone prefers an actual board or card game. [She's sure they can all find something.]

[Ice cream]

[ . . . Help. It appears that even vampires can over eat. More than that, even mothers, too. After her second bowl of ice cream, Yuuki stumbles back into the living room slowly.

Her stomach. It feels like it's going to explode any minute. She's not even sure how she's made it this short distance. Groaning, she lets her head fall upon the back of the first person she walks across.]

I'm so full, I can't walk another step...

[Sleeping]

[It seems that her meal and dessert have finally caught up with her. Curled up upon a chair in the living room, her chest rises steadily with the sure signs of sleep. Food has the habit of making her tired, and after cracking a book, her eyes had become heavy almost immediately. It rests beside her, still half open as she dreams.

Wake her up...? Or let her rest?]

[Ren was full of food himself, having indulged in quite a few different assortments of food. Not only that but the adjustment between night and day was still rather trying on him. For at least a week or two he had been spending the day time with Ai and Kaname. Now he was trying to do so with his family and even just those few days he struggled through it, often going to bed a full hour or two before the rest when his body could no longer handle it. Still, it was worth it to see his family each day.

Speaking of sleep, of course, Ren can't help but watch his mother for a moment, smiling as he crouches in front of her where she slept. Carefully, he takes the book from her to close it and set it aside. Just a bit - he could see that Ai might resemble Kaname strongly, but when it came to it she definitely was much more like their mother in mannerisms, right down to the way they slept. He wondered if she would cling to him if he tried to pick her up.]

Mother always over does it... [Gently, he reaches forward to tuck a stray hair behind her ear.]

[Her children are doting. But it seems that Ren is especially so. He frustration over the fact that she has no memories of her son from the future, is tempered by the fact that she's utterly charmed by him.

It shouldn't be so surprising. He's very much like Zero- but openly shows his affection more. At least-- more than the Zero of the past. That has certainly changed recently, too. Perhaps he resembles his grandfather even more.

She stirs lightly, lips parting in a fanged yawn. Eyes blinking tiredly, she glances up to find Ren and gives him a sleepy smile.]

I had to show my appreciation for the food. [Or she just really likes food... Which is much more likely. Even so, her smile widens and she gently teases.]

Were you wanting to join mother in a nap?

[If only she knew why he was so doting, compared to Ai. He didn't want to lose this opportunity to have his mother's presence as well as his father's. It might be selfish not telling them but he was fine with it. He wanted to shoulder it onto himself.]

Hmm. It was good, wasn't it?

[He was glad to have helped cook. It felt nostalgic in its own way.]

I don't think we'd both fit in the chair.

[He gets a chuckle out of the suggestion, though.]

[Pushing herself up to sit up straighter once more, she suppresses a second yawn with one hand, before using both to pat her lap.]

If you sit here there is plenty of room. Come, come...! You're not too old to sit on your mother's lap. This will help make up for the fact that you've done something terrible and out grown your mother. You have to take pity on me and give the illusion that my children haven't grown up over night.
