[It had taken a fair bit of effort to put everything together, but none of it that wasn't enjoyable. While Zero did do a majority of the cooking, the others helped out here and there. In retrospect, the sheer amount of foods and ingredients he picked up the day before wasn't too much at all. In a general sense Zero made sure that the apartment was well stocked.

Unlike breakfast the other day, tonight their meal is set up more like a buffet, with a good variety of dishes, some of which he's only recently learned how to make. Plenty of meat and fish, a few noodle dishes, salads, etc etc. In hopes it would maybe get Ichiru to at least stop by, too, Zero made the tomato soup that they both used to love when growing up.

Dessert is of course provided as well. More specifically, a sundae bar. A little later on after they've eaten he'll set up the bowls, ice cream, and fixings along the counter.]

It's not that I mind what you say... [Even though he generally doesn't have trouble just bluntly saying whatever he likes.] It's only that I... [She hesitates] I'm happy having you in my life, being close, and helping with Ai. Of course she's very fond of you after all.

[What is she trying to say exactly, she wonders?]

When it comes to you, I catch myself feeling very strongly... [Possessive feelings of not wanting to let him go. Of not wanting to lose him. Of being afraid of such an outcome.] I cherish you and Ai. And now Ren, too. I don't want to do or say anything that would result in your disappearance from my life.

Mm.

[He's quiet. It's true that he's hopeless in that manner. That much has been obvious for quite awhile, now. Of course he wants even more, but it's far too selfish of him; making her rush isn't in his plans, nor anything he could ever do to her. It would only push her away, or lead to discomfort.]

I won't leave you. Just as you told me of what I said back home: something like that is out of the question. I could never do it.

[She's the only one he wants— the only one he ever has wanted and needed, and ever will. No matter how many countless centuries they'll live for.

He relaxes against her, warm and content.]

In that case, what I want while we're here. . . I want to be able to take advantage of having a true family. I want to try more new recipes to cook. I'd like to do more sports. . . maybe ice skating more. I want to learn about other worlds. I'd like to relax a little more, and make the best of having real free time.

[Is that a good answer?]

[They haven't really done much of that in the past. She hasn't, anyway. Here in Marina though, with the entire family on ice... she can only imagine it would be a lot of fun. Ren and Ai would enjoy that kind of thing. Right...?

Lets enjoy ourselves then, while we can, then. I know we're all looking for a way out. But... there's nothing that says we can't cherish our time here, too.

[He seems a little amused. It's true, though. Doing so as a family would be fun.]

I went several times when I was a kid. It was on frozen ponds, though, which is a fair bit more risky compared to the indoor type, like the set up they have here.

[He'll always like that she can answer that way as well.]

Let's do all that we can. I want to further get to know Ai and Ren, too.
