[ day 393 ] video ;;
[ The camera turns on to reveal a very bored looking John Constantine. Complete in that lovely orange jumpsuit. ]

And here I thought I had gotten myself into the good graces again. Fighting the depths of Hell and restoring souls and all that. Good to see the Almighty and forces of Good really do ride that high horse of justice all the way to the bottom of the ocean. [ Not that he's denying his charges. They're all completely true. ] Let me put it to you this way: if the angels thought I was a desperation move, what makes you lot think rehabilitation would actually work?

[ John sighs. ] I don't suppose any of you might know where a sorry sod like me could find a pack of cigarettes. Oh, and, a proper pair of clothes. Orange was never really my color.

I don't know about the cigarettes, but I do know drinks and clothes. Basically the first things I asked for too, when I got here.

[ There's a good looking bloke. ]

I imagine most people would want a good drink when they find out they've traveled realities and have been stuck at the bottom of the ocean. Not too many people are used to the idea of multiple dimensions and planes of existence. [ He shrugs non nonchalantly. ] But, it looks like you've done alright for yourself so far, mate.

[ Why thank you, John. He tries. Is it the fluffy hair or the smile?

He chuckles and flashes a grin at John.]

Well, I'm already acquainted with the idea of other dimensions, and to be honest I've done a few nights in jail before - admittedly for real crimes, mind.

That or the alcohol is a lot better than I thought.

[ A bit of both. The eyes aren't too bad either. John appreciates any good looking person. Although usually most don't seem to agree with him. Sadness. ]

Really now? And how did you have the misfortune of learning about the realities that set down next to yours? [ He is honestly curious. Especially given that, apparently, Marina Nova doesn't respect the idea of moving souls or bodies between said dimensions. ] "Real crimes." I'd say that my track record seems fairly accurate. Minus the reasons for said crimes, but, since when do the prosecutors care about the reasons we do anything? Especially the Almighty up above.

[ He may or may not have a bit of a grudge against God. ]

Can't say I've ever had alcohol from another dimension before.

[ That baby blue does get people. And the freckles. Luckily Kirk tends to get along with most people, so here's hoping it takes! Because John's not to bad looking either. ]

Someone messed with the time stream.

[ You have no idea, John. No idea. It still gives him headaches to this day. ]

Well the Robocop that seemed to have an oddly human attraction to me sure didn't, and I can't say much for a god.

[ Sorry, he doesn't believe in that sort of thing, John. ]

It's to bad they don't have Romulan Ale here, as far as I can tell. That would make this place seem a lot more appealing right away. But I can take you to the next closest.

[ John likes most people and gets most of them into a world of trouble. So, do pardon if he makes a few blatant passes at Kirk. ]

Dangerous stuff, that is. They must not have been too bright to do that. [ It really takes a lot to phase John. ]

A god. Well, there are several depending on the faith you want to put stock or trade in. I've had the misfortune of meeting several demons and a rather annoying angel. Not that I have to worry about that sack of feathers down here. [ It's probably the one good thing - Manny can't pop up and start yelling at him to go save the world. ]

And what might that be?

[ John, this is Jim Kirk, he gets into plenty of trouble all on his own It's all right, John, he will likely make some back. He's not shy. ]

It wasn't on purpose, but it happened. And that's how I ended up with two Spocks in the same universe.

[ Exasperation, can you hear it, John? Though, okay, there's some fondness there too. Spock is his one of his best friends after all. ]

I've met some people who style themselves as gods and the like, but personally speaking I don't believe in that sort of thing.

[ So that's on the table John. Last chance to run. ]

It's at a bar over in District 0. It's more fun if I surprise you with it.

[ By trouble, generally maimed, killed, or soul stolen. It is part of his trade :( Oh, this is going to be fun. ]

Two of the same person. I'm more interested in the fact the universe didn't try to kill one or both of them to balance itself out. Lucky for you then, mate.

[ He can pick it up. It's generally how he feels about Chas, but Chas is the one person that tends to keep him on a semi-narrow path. Even if there is that whole "your wife divorced you because of me" thing. ]

I don't blame you at all for that one. Maybe your reality is a bit nicer in the Almighty department. [ Or, Kirk is just lucky as hell. ] Just be glad you haven't gotten all of Hell knowing your name with a bounty on your head, yeah?

Consider it a date. Once I've got some proper attire on. Bad form to show up in orange prison garb.

[ Welp, he's died once already. He does like being fun. ]

That's what I thought it would do, honestly, but no, it did not. But that was probably a good thing. Certain events played out, and he was - he was needed. Very much so.

[ He had felt sad when he heard of his passing, though selfishly he was glad it was not HIS Spock. ]

Does having Klingons dislike you intensely count as the same thing?

[ Yeah, cause he hadn't made the best impression there, oops. ]

Maybe I like the color orange, though I do appreciate a man who wants to look nice for me.

[ Wink wink. ]

[ At least then it wouldn't be too surprising ]

Oh, I imagine if someone has gone about and mucked with time and put two versions of the same person in one reality, they are needed. It usually doesn't turn out well in the long scheme of things. [ Then again, what does he know? Each reality can play by different rules. His is just a massive dick. ]

If your Klingons start nice little chats about how they can't wait to torture you for the rest of existence? Then it just might. Not that I'm trying to win awards or anything here, mate. [ He kind of is. ]

Just wait till I bring the tie then. You could do a lot of things with those. [ John grins back. Oh, this is a bit dangerous. Good thing he rolls with dangerous all the time. ]

[ He would still like to avoid it though, it wasn't fun. ]

I don't think time is quite as fragile as we think, to be honest, nor as picky. But it certainly lends credence to the thought that there are many, many worlds out there.

[ It's a headache. He does not want a headache. If you give him a headache you will have to make it better later, John. ]

Heh, I'm from the year 2263. Trust me, I've figured out things to do with ties you can only dream of.

[ He's smirking so very much right now, John. He likes dangerous. And, you know, giving warm welcomes to prison. ]

That all depends on what amount of rules your reality chooses to run by. Mine? We'll say that magic is a way to trick it, but it always gets the payment it wants. [ And usually that is a payment his friends pay. ]

2263! I'd say it was impressive to hear humanity is kicking around that long, but, we have a habit of being stubborn bastards who don't know when to stop. [ He grins. ] I could dream up quite a few things. Most of them not for the faint of heart.

That's a bit of a sour way of looking at it, but I can't really argue with the tenacious part. I am a shining example of it.

[ He smirked before promptly biting his lip, just at the corner, eyeing John through the feed. ]

I'm not one to shy away from a challenge - or new experiences.

Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Most of the time it's bloody, dirty, and down right despicable. The faster you realize it? The easier it is to punch it back in the face.

[ Raging punk here, Jim. Watch out.

John chuckles. ]

How romantic of you. I bet the girls love walks on the beach draped over your arm.

[ He even had a punk band once. It was horrible. ]

Tails. Can't say that I've seen them on a person outside of the imp here and there. [ But has he really seen an imp? ]

It's usually a walk down to the viewing deck, actually.

[ Did you wear combat boots and plaid and spike your hair and have way to many piercings? How into it were you John? ]

No imps for myself, but I have found a certain fondness for cat-like species. Don't worry though - ties are right after tails for me.

Viewing deck?

[ This sounds like something that should definitely be plotted. Watch out, Jim. John leads people down bad paths. :(

He was pretty into it. Made a few records that were shit, but rocked the whole punk look. This loser. ]

Cat-like species. [ He grins. ] You made them purr loudly then, I'll bet. Can't say that I'd want to see the hairballs they'd leave behind in the morning though. Jokes on you, mate. [ JOHN STOP. ]

Yes - I spent most of my time on a spaceship, so beaches can be in short supply.

[ Well, he would admit that you could probably pull off that aesthetic, and if there was something that a prison needed it was a punk band. It seemed deliciously ironic, no? ]

Hmm, I wonder what you sound like when you purr. And hopefully you're not the type to throw up hairballs come morning.

[ CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. That's what's going on here, right? ]

Spaceship. [ The face of non-believing.

Sadly, the punk band days are long behind him. ]

Alas. ]

Sounds a bit sci-fi to me. Not the sort of fiction I tend to dabble in.

[ Not that he runs through a lot of fiction.

Oh, he doesn't believe, he knows. The man had an angel on speed dial (more or less) and every demon in Hell knows him by his first name basis. He makes good friends. ]

I don't like to completely discount angels, even though I'm not a religious man. I assume the idea for humans had to come from somewhere, after all.

I don't mind it. You pull it off well.
