[Welcome newbies and today-only newbies alike, while you're getting accustomed to the sights and sounds here's a few more. Rebecca opens a channel on the communicator with a bright sunny view of herself on the beach, water in the background and bright blue eyes focused on the lens. While she talks she'll swing the view around, letting snippets of the set up of a volleyball net be seen as well as a few tables worth of baked goods (thank you Chuck) and a sexy redhead boyfriend working grill.]

Hey guys. If you're looking for something to do or want some free food, come by the beach in sector one. My name's Rebecca to make introductions short and we're having a fun get together that's open ended, mostly so I can work on my tan. [She winks. There's more to it than that but she can elaborate later to the people honestly interested. And with a hopeful bite of her lip:] If you remember me from any time before, let's catch up too? We've got some drinks and when it starts to get dark I'm going to try and dig a fire pit. No wardens are around to tell me not to light things on fire so that's exactly what I'm going to do.

[OOC: Rebecca's network replies will have their own thread down below, and you're totally invited to make whatever you'd like of the post in your own comments as well. It's something of a beach party/ mingle with food (pies and the like, courtesy of Chuck), drinks, beach sports and tanning and Becca digging a fire pit later on for people interested. The beach has barbeques (also one manned by Aidan), huts and cabanas and a few harmless fish in the water as well.]

[There are so many words there that mean a lot and nothing at the same time. Aidan. She knows Aidan and they're boning and it's nothing close to marriage. Marriage. Marriage? Married. They're married? In what flipping world and - how - how are there children. That makes her stomach want to swallow her up whole from inside because it suggests getting out of here. Right? With teachers at school and other kids and she feels really fucking winded right now and she wants to laugh. This is just the dome screwing with her, it has to be.]

Okay--I'll be... here. By the volleyball nets. [Feeling about as uneasy, which is a feat for a girl like Rebecca.

Buttoning up Aidan's stolen shirt over her swimsuit, she shuffles over to the side to stand and wait for this... kid. God, he really is a kid. Old enough to be using the internet and he's claiming she shot him out of her own womb? That gives her a bit of a shiver but with this place being the disaster it is, could it really be... conceivable? Oh, it takes a lot to not just grab Aidan by the wrist and pull him over to help her out but she should at least get the bearings on this whole situation before alarming him too.

Damn, though. He does kinda look like...]

[Oh my god, he's so little-- that's her first thought when she looks at him. Anything under twenty is little, and nothing makes her feel older than realizing that. And well, being called mom again when she still kind of gets a sick twisting stomach at the idea of a pregnancy scare. She stares at him for a long, silent beat, looking him over head to toe.]

Hi.

[How do we start this? How about her stepping forward, reaching out but then hesitating to touch him. Is that allowed? Is it weird? She pulls back her hand from brushing his hair out of his eyes and bites her lip.] Oh, wow. This is weird. I'm your mom? For real?

She could make Shaun curse at her without a tinge of guilt but the second there's a tremble in a kid's voice? Ugh. Those damn maternal(? confused maternal?) instincts kick in a little harder.]

No, no-- I believe... [Fuck it. She reaches forward to hug him??? Is she supposed to do this if he's not really her kid? Is it awkward? About what? [She asks, reaching out to shepherd him along with an arm around the shoulders. It'd be a lie to say she's got a lot of hunger considering her sudden child crisis but he needs food and she at least has a little bit of experience taking care of other people's needs. Reminding Desmond to eat was parenting practice, who would've thought?]

I think the only thing he might get mad over is the bastards of this place bringing you in. It's not... the place for kids, even if it looks easy going. I don't think he could be mad at you for anything.

It's long and complicated but basically, it brings in people from a lot of different places. And time lines. Sometimes it brings them in too early or by accident and they go home pretty quick after.
