[There is a moment—just the smallest beat—when she feels like she should withdraw her hands as if it could prevent her from tainting him with the echo of the things she did and people she killed. But she can't. She wants his touch. His kindness. His reassurances even if she's almost certain the things he's saying apply to only one person. One person who didn't know the truth of what happened immediately but still believed in her. One person who didn't let the massacre overshadow the intent. He's speaking for himself and that touches her even if she can't believe all of it. Even if she's sure the devastating impact was greater than her hopeful and selfish intent to let people live in peace and dignity.]

Suzaku... I believe you see it that way. [And she's grateful for it. Instead of withdrawing her hands from his she gives them a squeeze.]

Not only me. [ It may not be everyone, but it's not only him. He knows Nina never stopped admiring Euphie. He knows that neither Nunnally nor Cornelia stopped loving her. Not a ~princess~ who died in battle, but her, Euphemia li Britannia, who looked for solutions and was never afraid to pay the price for them herself. ] But even believing that - it is a start. It is real, and it is never going to change. Ever.

I hope the Japanese will have a good home. One that treats them well. [It is the least—the very least—they deserve after everything else.]

Have you talked to Cornelia much? [Because her siblings are the only ones she can imagine still feeling that way, but they are also the ones who have always been most important in her life.] It's been so long since she was here. [She misses her deeply.]
