[Funny how he wakes up feelings tired after so much sleep but maybe all the dreams have left him exhausted. He remembers some of them, some are more fuzzy, just impressions of rapidly fading feelings and images. He does remember the one with Spike though, and for awhile he's happy just to lay here curled up together, watching him sleep until he wakes up.]

[Closes to Jack]

[A little while later and he makes his way back upstairs to their flat, feeling a little guilty even if it wasn't his fault he stayed away longer than he planned to. And there's the fact that even though the scratches on his back and bruise on his leg are hidden under his jeans and t-shirt there's no disguising the raw red marks on his wrists from the handcuffs. There's not much point in hoping Jack won't remark on those so he just decides to hope for the best as he lets himself in.]

	Shut up. [Theres no venom in it, just a smile and feigned annoyance.] That's all the emotional commitment you can expect from me for the forseeable future. It took me two years to tell Jack I love him and that was only because he said it first. I still introduce him as my boss half the time. I'm not good at the relationship part of all this. Luckily for you, the relationship part isn't important. [ He should let him go, but it feels pretty good to steal away some more time now that he can. He shifts in closer, sliding a hand over Ianto's hip, not with any real intention of getting sexy but surely with the intention of being sexy. ]

It's all about heart and blood and fire. The rest is just words people use to make themselves feel like they know what they're doing.

[He will be sneaking eventually but not just yet. It's hard, striking a balance between wanting to see Jack and make sure he's alright and not wanting to just run off like this is some sort of one night stand. It's a tricky balancing act but he's determined to do his best at it, at letting this be a real relationship with both of them even if that's one of those words he's not good with.]

[ You are the worst. Why is he making such an effort if this is the kind of abusive behaviour he's rewarded with?

He gives Ianto A Look, partially to maintain some sort of cover so he doesn't have to talk about claws digging into his chest and piercing his heart and the dead silence that comes when there's nothing left of you. No, he's going to unpack that one in private, if at all. ]

Makes me wonder what their game is. Probably best to prepare for something worse around the corner, considering how things usually go around here.

	I keep trying to find some sort of pattern in it, but I can't really seem to see one beyond not having chaos every day. [Other than that he can't find much rhyme or reason to the decisions their captors make or how the things they do are supposed to help them, if that even is their goal.] (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

I know. [They both are. This part is harder than he expected.]

We'll do this again. [Not just because that's what people say but because he means it. Again and soon. As hard as balancing all this is he intends to try his best at it, not to leave anyone feeling left out. It may not be possible but he'll still do his best. Until then all he can do is kiss him again, long and slow before climbing out of bed with visible reluctance and starting to look for his clothes.]

[ It is hard. He and Rose had such a casual relationship going that he's almost forgotten how hard it can be — and he didn't share her with anyone. It's not a bad thing what they got going here but damn is it going to take awhile to get used to it. He gets out of bed when Ianto does, pulling his trousers on and nothing else. Might as well walk him to the door. ]

We better. This is more commitment than I'm willing to give for just one night.

[Good, since at the rate he's going it's going to be a long, slow walk to the door. He pulls on his jeans and shirt but then pauses, catching hold of both his hands so he can hold them while he faces him seriously.]

It's not going to be just one night. I know this is weird and it's going to be weird for awhile but I don't want you to feel like it doesn't count, like what I've got with Jack is the real relationship and this is just something on the side. It'll take a bit of figuring out but tell me if I'm not here enough, or if you need more, alright? It's the only way we're going to make this work.
