Day 374 | Shared dreaming
[Bitty dragon]

[Trespassers were forbidden from entering the Village of Hakuryuu. Anyone who got too near and made it past the fog was ordinarily stopped. There were the occasional few who slipped past, but they were normally found and taken care of. That was why just on the outskirts of the village, the young four year old Kija was surprised when he collided head first with someone he didn't recognize.

Falling backwards from the impact, he blinked up in surprise-- before he remembered himself. Rising up to his feet quickly, his white scaled claw lifted at the ready, and he faced off with the stranger.]

Who are you? And what do you want with our village?

	They might not know you are a dragon until after. . . [Taking action against him. Though hopefully not. Slowly he climbs back down and holds his arms out at his sides so that Jae-Ha can pick him up. I see. Well, hopefully it'll be all right in the end.

Worry not, Kija-kun. I won't say a word.

[He isn't too worried. Kija's actions are yet again entertaining, where he can't help but think his younger self is adorable.

Instead, however, he crouches down for Kija to climb upon his back.]

It's easier this way. Hold on tight, okay?

[Either way, both of his arms move to help support Kija's legs. He then bends his knees and presses off, launching them both up.]

[For a moment he stares. A... piggy back ride. He's never had one before, but he nods after a moment. Tentative, he moves forward and climbs up onto his back. Wrapping his arms around his neck, he isn't sure what to expect until he suddenly springs up into the air.

With a gasp he clutches onto the green dragon much more tightly when his stomach suddenly drops by the feeling of weightlessness. The shock and nervousness fades after a moment, however, to be replaced by a smile.

How amazing! The green dragon has such a fun-- no, such an incredible ability!]

	[He tries not to bristle when the other dragon laughs. Instead, he points ahead.] There. [There he is. They're right on time. A frail man can be seen. [To start he simply nods quietly. Ryokuryuu must have had a predecessor in the past, too. So he likely knows that something like this is never easy. Even without his obvious weak appearance, he can feel the life draining from his father.

Every day he draws closer to death.]

He is not in good health right now. I am not permitted to see him.

[But he always takes a short walk this time of day. And from his hiding spot here in the woods he can safely watch him. When he tries to up close he's either shooed away, or his father turns away from him.]

	Once he is inside, we can move into the town. Too much excitement may not be good for his health. [Kija isn't sure how he will react to another dragon, either. He doesn't want Ryokuryuu to feel unwelcome.] My Granny is the village elder. She will surely throw a feast in celebration of your arrival, and will welcome you to us with open arms. [It's probably wrong of Jae-Ha to feel a little envious. He would have killed (maybe even literally) to have never seen Garou for even a second. Simultaneously, however, he immediately is also able to recognize Kija's feelings. They aren't anything new. Nothing needs to be said.]

I'm sorry to hear that.

[Those words, however, are safe enough. He hopes they are, at least. They're genuine, too.]

I don't need such an event, really.

[Jae-Ha isn't meaning to draw so much attention. Although, it's also only natural. He may not be the biggest fan at all of the entirety of the dragon legend, but. . . it is what it is.]

But lead the way, when you feel like it, in any case.

[Almost at once he launches into questions.]

How high can Ryokuryuu jump? Even taller than the trees? Is your foot really strong too? What brought you to Hakuryuu Village? Have you met the other dragons? What's your village like? Does everyone also have green hair? How old are you? Does everyone dress like that outside of the village? What about--

[He continues to ramble on until Jae-Ha interrupts to even try answering one.]

I can reach very tall trees, and have been able to leap from ship to ship out on the sea. And it is very strong, yes. I can break through many things.

[Some of these questions are more difficult to answer. Some may be met with lies or evasion.]

As mentioned, I came to visit because I was passing over, and felt your presence. [Has he met the other dragons? Yes. Only, telling Kija he's from his future might bring on confusion. . .] I've been traveling more than I remained in Ryokuryuu Village, but no. Not many have green hair.

[That part amused him.]

I want to face off against the foot of Ryokuryuu!

[Going to be stronger, going to be stronger, he's determined to show him just how tough he is! Even small he's competitive.]

Also, I think you have pretty hair. [Honestly spoken.] Everyone in Hakuryuu Village has silvery white hair, just like me. I've never seen another color before.

Heh. . . Well, if we do that, we'll need to find common ground, first. So of course jumping isn't an option.

[He's confident he has more power, honestly. As Kija's father still is around. Not that the older man necessarily still has much of his strength.

The compliment leaves Jae-Ha to chuckle a bit.]

Of course it is. I do try! ♥ [~~No, Jae-Ha. . .~~] Oh? Well, I'll have you know that out in the rest of the world, there are a number of other hair colors.

[Garou is the only other who had green hair, but he's not going to even utter a word about his own predecessor.]

	That's a good example, yes. [He says a bit fondly. Of course he's unable to mention Yona. She truly is stunning, not solely her hair color.] Maybe some day, then, hm? The most common I've seen is brown, blonde - ah, a light golden color - and black. Not that there's anything bad about those colors. I'm sure you'll see more of the world at some point. It's truly a sight to see, and seems to expand forever! Although, unfortunately, because of the salt, you really can't drink it. Swimming is perfectly fine, though. Catching fish can be fun as well. [He shakes his head and props himself up straighter upon Jae-Ha's back.]

I must protect my village! I'll make sure that until the day that he comes, I wont let anyone hurt this place. [While he definitely would like to see the ocean or go exploring, it's clear that from the conviction in his voice he finds this to be important, and that it's something he absolutely wants to do.]

Everyone is always taking care of me. It is important to me to do the same in return. I am very grateful for the many blessings I have received. [He's... actually mature for his age in some ways? Or maybe he really just hasn't changed much since his younger self.] I know that I am very fortunate. [He may be spoiled by those in his village, but he doesn't take it for granted. Even with the situation of his father.

Leaning over excitedly to find his face again, he beams with a cheerful smile.]

And because I was here, now I have met the Green Dragon! [He has always found the stories of the green dragon to be incredible!]

I will be happy if you just tell me about the ocean and things. I heard that there are monster fish in the ocean. That they can be as big as.... [He pauses to consider Jae-Ha and glances from his feet to his head.]

They can be as big as you!

[And it's that very conviction that has Jae-Ha not saying a word. Not that he would to someone so young, but even so. He's long since reached the point where harbors respect for him. He doesn't agree with some of Kija's ideals for himself, but that's exactly it: it's not about him.]

Well, I'm sure you'll achieve all of these things, and that you'll grow up well.

That's true! I've heard of sharks and whales. The former are said to have many razor sharp teeth. While I'd love to see one up close, as it must be a magnificent sight, I'm glad that I haven't. I may be a risk taker, but that would be a bit too much. It's different than encountering a beast on dry land, such as a bear, as I can simply jump out of the way. Being in the water can be one of my greatest weaknesses, I must confess.

I could take on a bear! [Proclaimed so confidently.]

Jump us down and if we find one I can show you! [He is ready to take on a bear, just watch him! He pats Jae-Ha on the head, however.]

And don't worry. I can teach you how to swim. [He's taking his weakness comment the wrong way. He lowers his voice as though he has a secret to share.] I always sneak away from the village to go and bathe. So I've practiced lots of swimming in the lake.
