[Day 369] Defense Force Mingle

This afternoon we're going to do a thing. Be at the headquarters. If you know someone who isn't a member, but they're interested in joining you can bring them too. [She knows it may not be the best day after hearing this morning's announcement, but since the wardens played with them yesterday she knows the day should be clear of their interference and they have some new recruits so they should probably all meet each other.]

[The thing in question is on the roof of the headquarters. Kitty brought food and drinks which thankfully she did not prepare. It's all snack-sized finger foods. She wants everyone to have a chance to know their teammates better. She isn't going to force any group activities but there are some tables and chairs for people who want to relax more or maybe play a game. She did leave a few decks of cards out.]

	I outrank science. I would think a person calling me captain would know that. [She smiles, trying to be okay and not worried here, but it wasn't long ago she was talking to Jack about Chekov and the kiss and the feelings.] You didn't hear the warden's announcement today? Ah. [He frowns. He knows Jack and Ianto in a vague sort of way and wouldn't wish that kind of relationship complications on either of them. Also? Kind of uncomfortable talking to Kitty about infidelity.] There were extenuating circumstances, surely...?

What was happening with you? [Other than badness which is enough to make her worry. She has a very low worry threshold with him. But at least they are on the far outskirts of infidelity talk?]

Today is fine. Tomorrow will be better, and every day after that will be better still. [Even without the wardens' help, he's a little sad and unhappy with himself for not knowing his feelings before it was too late. But this will get better with time.] And you, today? Are you less afraid?
