[Day 369] Defense Force Mingle

This afternoon we're going to do a thing. Be at the headquarters. If you know someone who isn't a member, but they're interested in joining you can bring them too. [She knows it may not be the best day after hearing this morning's announcement, but since the wardens played with them yesterday she knows the day should be clear of their interference and they have some new recruits so they should probably all meet each other.]

[The thing in question is on the roof of the headquarters. Kitty brought food and drinks which thankfully she did not prepare. It's all snack-sized finger foods. She wants everyone to have a chance to know their teammates better. She isn't going to force any group activities but there are some tables and chairs for people who want to relax more or maybe play a game. She did leave a few decks of cards out.]

[ Suzaku faffled about showing up to a social event, but it's important to know the people you're fighting with, and also be known to them. Even if he's doing some training, well.

He's impeccably dressed, and even attempting to smile a little. Looking at faces both familiar and new. Looking to listen more than talk, but... that doesn't always work as well as he hopes. ]

[ He's not actually trying to wrest charge again, it's - she has things under control, as far as he can see, and that's enough, considering how little of what happens around the dome can actually be prevented by the Defense Force.

Is there a specific reason for organizing this today? [ It's not any kind of pointed question, just curious. He's very used to having purposes to what he chooses to do, and to not all people having them, not to the same degree. ]

She just occasionally wonders if she should turn things back over to him, but he's so new now.] Yes, there are a lot of new faces on the team and I think a good first step in working together when emergencies do come up is being able to recognize who is on your team. Too much? Not for me. But the group doesn't exactly harmonize without some work. [True of any group really, but with the X-men there were such clear similarities on top of the shared goals.] We have people from all sorts of world and lives who are often still more loyal to a team back home than they are this one. [And by the necklace with the X on it she wears she can't really say it's untrue of herself.]

I tend to keep to the training and patrol schedule, apologies. Staying around the building... I do not remember it, but I was here before, and then I was the head of the Defense Force. I'm not sure that the people who remember that won't be made to feel uncomfortable because of the change in positions. [ Back and not remembering before - that should sound somewhat familiar to Zero. And Suzaku is aware of that. ]

It's fine. I'm still getting a feel for things, anyway. [Ah— He might feel a little less alone with that remark.] I had also been here for quite some time as well, but don't remember a thing, although my friend from home does remember her previous stay. I'd been wondering if anyone else has experienced what I have.

I would think so, though I haven't really asked around. Just about everybody recognized what was happening when I arrived, however, so I'm guessing it's what quite a few people experience.

I don't know if it makes a difference to me. It's mostly everyone who expects me to know them that I worry about.
