[ Deciding that makeup will probably draw more attention than the bruise itself, a freshly punched Reid hits the prison streets. He needs coffee and a bagel, so he stops by Bean Crushers, lingering in a corner booth for a while with a stack of books that are due at the library. While in Sector 2 he also takes a moment to stop by the school - he hasn't held classes in forever and he probably won't now that his teacher's aide is missing in action but he can stop by the music room and play piano for a bit. It's been weeks, if not months.

He can, of course, also be encountered on the way between places, sporting a beautiful and fresh shiner. Thanks Leia. ]

[God, okay - so.] ... Is that such a bad thing, though?

I mean - I understand the Force. The need we had for it, have for it... But does it need to be what it is? It's starting to feel like it's grown too official when in the end, we're the same people as the rest of the dome. But there's this oppressive feeling when it comes to... walking around armed looking for trouble. Making choices the way - the way they've been made. Are we really supposed to be the ones making choices when it comes to souls? Inner beings or demons or whatever?

[She fucking hated Tyki. But she still feels off about what they did to him, like Spike - As an Assassin she was trained to kill, to eliminate threats. Not to neuter them. For their sake as much as her own. It's... cruel. And that's where she's starting to draw these lines of where she is as a person and where she wants to be.]

It's less so than it used to be, but... I get what you mean. [ Not everyone is armed like they were back then, but the screening process was also a lot less rigorous. ]

I don't think we have the right to make those decisions on behalf of the entire population, but... I also don't know that there's a better way to do it. Juries are comprised of ordinary, average people too. I'm not saying it's a perfect system, but... what's the alternative?

That said... there's hardly enough of us left here to warrant official law enforcement.

I'm going to have an opinion I know will be unpopular, at least with... some people. [She doesn't have to say Kitty out loud, right? Right?] I know what we have as leadership now is done with the best intentions but like you said - juries aren't possible in an unbiased way to a situation but what about some sort of council? A leader can remain a leader, but the choices could be made... democratically? I don't know.

[She rubs her temple.] Now I'm getting sucked into this void before poker and I really just have to shelve it until later.
