[The video feed is very, very dark; the room is dimly lit by candles so old that trails of wax have encrusted them to their holders. But it reminds him of home. It's quiet and lonesome, the sound of tin and glass clinking before Tyki lowers himself into a seat at one end of a dark lacquered table. More like falls into it, with a bruise forming on his jaw and a sallow, nearly waxy complexion hidden behind grown stubble and thick rimmed glasses. Waking up with an integral part of your being forcibly removed and dealing with that sudden loss takes a lot out of a man; especially one who heavily relied on the balance to keep him... sane. The pleasure checkmated the guilt into submission time and time again and now it's just an aggravating mess and a sour taste left in his mouth.

His bar was just a slathering of salt into an open wound, though oddly deserved. He would've admitted that before, perhaps, but it still irks him to see his place taken over. No, no it was Greed's bar. Perhaps that's why it bothers him so much now-- because it was born on a human connection and that's all he has now. A pitiful human existence. He draws a tall bottle of wine close and fills a dented tin cup with it. No glitz, no glamor here. Just aches and pains, a miserable existence and a strangely human presence behind his dark eyes.]

You know who you are and what you did. [He drinks, tipping back his cup.

His voice is raspy and he drops the empty cup onto the table, slouching backward against the wall.] Congrats. You won.

[And then he reaches forward to shut off the broadcasting feed.]

[She's not sure what to say. There's a measure of relief. She assumes what she's hearing here is that it worked. The Noah is gone. It should make things safer and easier today at least. The wedding will be in less jeopardy and so will all the people. But she can see and hear that he's hurting and she can't take pleasure in that. She's concerned. Even after everything that's happened—maybe because of it—he's a big part of her life and she still cares about him. Even as she wanted to end him, she hated to lose him.]

Tyki. [Her voice is a little soft.]

[Why did he know you would find him? You are a toxin, Kitty. Someone he should detest right now for the hell you forced upon him - it had to have been you who sanctioned it. Allowed him to be torn in two and left to solely suffer the repercussions. He is angry but it's grown mild, behind a exhausted fog of other feelings right now that he hasn't had to deal with earnestly in years.]

Go on, gloat. Revel in your victory.

[Once upon a time she was an assassin. She'd have a target that needed to be eliminated for the greater good. One life or a handful in hopes of saving countless more. Each life she took, tore a piece of her away too, but she moved on each time. There were no nightmares, little guilt, and while it never felt good she didn't have the time or energy to devote to picking her choices apart. Action had to be taken. She took it. And then she moved on to the next thing. But here there is so much time and instead of taking lives she's cutting out pieces of people. First she shoved Spike's soul back inside him and now she took Tyki's noah. It didn't matter to her that she didn't act alone or that in neither case it was directly by her hand. She owned the weight of the actions and had almost limitless time to think about the repercussions of them. She knew and cared for the individuals she was inflicting pain upon. The fact that she had motivating reasons she still believed in didn't do much to offset the guilt of increasing their burdens.]

I told you what this would mean. [Threatened, more like, but it was always a threat laced with fear and venom because how could she not know or understand what it would mean to him? What the impact is that's settling into his bones right now, rubbing edges of his soul raw in ways he never wanted to experience. You should've killed him is all he can think in retort, pouring another cup of wine and fidgeting with a package of cigarettes.]

You went ahead with it. I don't think you deserve any answers to your questions, any absolving you of your guilt. If you have any.

I thought you understood. [He pauses, sighing and lighting up.]

But again, your forced hand prefers torture to remedy. [Spike, now him, forced to endure the more human aspects of their souls. The guilt that stacks up after years of murder, years of pushing envelopes as far as they'd go. But his voice doesn't raise, it doesn't actually sound anything other than flat and stating facts with an airy, distant tone. He can't argue, he doesn't care enough right now.]

What remedy? Death isn't permanent. I don't have a cage that can hold you. Expecting you to live and let live wasn't working. What did you leave me with?

Tell me about this choice I had that I ignored so I could inflict pain, Tyki. Tell me how I'm the sadist here. I could use a laugh. [There won't be any laughter. She's not even really achieving anger here. It's her own mix of hurt, guilt, and frustration.]

Don't even, Kitty. You came up with the way to do the impossible, didn't you? Don't tell me you didn't choose this yourself. [Instead of making death permanent. Coming up with a way to hold him, a way just to suppress the limits of his powers. He tsks, clinking around a pair of dice on the tabletop with a dragged out sigh. How many times did he know she was thinking about what he would be like without his Noah, how many times did he threaten her for even implying its removal?]

Like I said, you won. You don't need to try and justify yourself.
