[ deanna is making this as a voice post, which should tell everyone who knows her how she's really doing, but there's also the problem with the fact that she's stressed. plain and simple. she is stressed and her voice will betray that no matter what she does. she's been using her plexing all morning and it's only marginally helping. she's been out of sorts all day so far, since she woke up, and now that she's more than certain he's actually gone, she knows she needs to put out the word. ]

For those of you who knew him -- I know he was resident here for a very long time, so there are likely more of you who knew him than me -- Data is... [ what? gone? lost in the dimensional stabilizer? ] Data is no longer a resident of this facility. If he had any lingering business that needs to be looked into, I will take on what I can, but I think... for today I will be remaining in the apartment. I apologize to those who might have wanted to come see me at my office. If anyone would like to speak with me, I will be still available, of course. I will simply be remaining in the apartment for now.

[ because right now she needs to stay in the apartment, away from people, where she can quite possibly cry this stress out in peace. though the offer for company is meant, in most cases. ask for her location, friends, and ye may well receive. ]

[ charlotte, you are so cute. deanna opens the door, managing a warm and somewhat amused smile at the sight as she reaches to help charlotte get everything inside. ]

I wasn't expecting the whole shop to make it here. [ but this is perfect all the same. deanna leads the way into the kitchen so they can spread everything on the table. ] But thank you. This looks wonderful.

I figured, if you're going to do something you might as well go big. It's not like it broke my budget or anything. [ She follows, happy to unload the frozen treats. ] You might want to put some of this in the freezer though. I got some chocolate sauce and marshmallows and these tiny chocolate covered pretzels? And sprinkles.

I got everything. That's what I mean — I got everything.

[ it's probably a good thing that currency doesn't really apply here. still, deanna is touched and she takes a look at everything before they unpack, checking to see what it all is and whether they should go in the freezer or not. some will get stuck away and some will be kept out to enjoy, but the important thing is that now her fridge is stocked with chocolate. ]

You know how to make a chocolate-lover's day. [ she's imagining a good chocolate ice cream sundae with chocolate sauce, marshmallows, and sprinkles. and the pretzels on the side. so this may or may not be what she ends up starting to build yep. ] Every day is a good day for chocolate. [ but especially a day like today. ]

Why don't we both indulge a little?

[ come help her enjoy the awesome that is this chocolate mess. ]

[ deanna has a feeling a lot of people would have thrown fits if that were the case. she wouldn't have been pleased herself, that's for sure. limiting a chocolate lover's chocolate is a bad idea. ]

Up in the cabinet. [ she indicates the correct place and then points out the eating utensils, too, before returning to setting up what they have to make sundaes out of. ]

How have you been lately? Is anything new or interesting happening?

[ just to give them a topic to start with. they can come back to deanna's missing friend anytime. ]

[ This quiet, methodical activity of taking out bowls and spoons and assembling deliciousness is really nice and something she didn't really know she'd been missing out on. Maybe she came here for Deanna's sake, but this is just as much for her own when it comes down to it. ]

Something new? I don't think so... same as usual, I think. My boyfriend promised to stop being an idiot, so I guess that's something new.

	[ the great thing about ~~chocolate~~ friendship is that it's comforting and helpful for both sides. it's definitely what deanna has been missing, too. ] Well, that's a start. I suppose so, as well as can be expected. Of course, I do miss him, but at least I know if there's anyone who can find a way to wake up and help us, it will be Data. If he does that, he might be able to wake the others up and then we'll have a chance.

[ data not being organic helps. hooray androids. but hey, he's also smart. it is hard on her, though, as she misses him as a friend and crewmate. ]

[ deanna inhales deeply as she tries to figure out exactly how to go about explaining this. it was a strange situation to experience; she can imagine it will be stranger to hear about. ]

I recall walking through the dome with Data in the middle of the day when a door suddenly appeared in front of us. It looked very out of place and we were both curious about why it had appeared and where it led. So, naturally, we went through it together. I woke up alone, inside a pod, though I managed to free myself and escape it. I was in a room full of other pods and countless people rested inside those, several of whom I knew personally.

Many of those who had awoken accompanied me outside and eventually we met two beings who claimed to be “in charge.” It was... not an experience I had expected.
