[ Did you really think you'd be allowed to explore freely to your hearts content? This was never meant to happen and it certainly wasn't meant to last — before long the security system kicks into gear, unleashing a veritable swarm of spider robots designed to encourage and hoard reluctant prisoners. You're welcome to try and escape or even destroy a few, but they'll keep coming in overwhelming numbers, armed with tiny tasers that zap and prod until every single one of you has been sniffed out and brought to the exercise yard.

The Engineers are waiting for you there. You were brave enough to exploit a security breach. Perhaps your rewards will be a one-on-one with the very people responsible for keeping you here? Or perhaps this is just a way to buy time. Either way, you'll be stuck out here until they decide to end it. ]

[Ianto may not be one for adventure or field work but now that he's actually faced with a potential threat that is real and tangible and speaking to him he's considerably less frightened than he had been exploring. It's how things always were at Torchwood. He's done his best to behave and avoid being shocked by the bots that herded him here, so he's not even shaking as he faces the stranger in black. This could be the only chance he ever gets for answers and he wants to make it count.]

[He swallows hard, almost more afraid of how difficult that question is to answer than everything else. Maybe once it would have been easy but now? Now he knows he's going to die if he leaves this place and maybe their life here is a lie but is it really worse than a horrible death? He's a little disgusted with himself for not being able to answer.]

I care about knowing the truth. I need to know. What I do after, that's the part I'm less certain about.

I suppose I can only define it as I experience it. In this case I would think of it as wanting to understand exactly what the function of those pods we woke up in are, and how they affect us.

	I don't know how accurate my assessment is. But those pods looked like a cryogenic system to me, which supports what you said. This place is obviously very different than the asylum we know, which makes me suspect everything we experience in there is just a projection, something in our minds, nothing more.
