[Veronica looks remarkably well for someone who was violently assaulted yesterday. The magic of Warden technology. Still, while they could heal the stab wound, the emotional ones will take more time.]

Our good friends the Wardens have asked that I start a game over the network, so why don't we play one of my favorites: anonymous confessions. Got something weighing on your soul? Share it here. Our favorite Warden has made it so your voice will be distorted beyond all recognition. People can guess but no one will ever know...

[If knowledge is a weapon, secrets are the assault rifle for a private detective. Know a person's secrets, and you know that person's weaknesses. And while this may not be the most effective way of gathering them...well, everybody's gotta start somewhere.]

[ooc: Veronica got special permission from the Wardens to enable people to respond anonymously to this post. Just put "anon" in the subject line for any post that's anonymous. Voice responses will have a filter (can be a silly filter if you want), and video posts will have a silly picture and voice distortion.]

[She should talk to Veronica about what happened with Nathan, but she can't pull herself together enough for that right now. She didn't get drunk as she was invited to do a couple of times or even as she wanted to do, but as she goes back to this post much later in the day—or earlier in the next day depending on how you want to look at it, she is tired. And sometimes staying up late is no better than being drunk—inhibitions still seem to fall away.

She's sitting on what used to be their bed. In what used to be their room of their apartment. She's surrounded by his things and gazing at a picture they took together in the photo booth. God, they look happy there.]

I feel like it's my fault. If I'd just said the right things more often or done the wrong things a little less often or just been less damaged or more educated maybe [I would have been the one he couldn't let go of. But she doesn't say that much. It makes it too clear who it is. It's probably already too clear.] ...maybe things would have been different.

[She closes her eyes and the next words are probably a more telling confession if you know this anon's situation.] I want to go home.

[Talking. Yeah, that's what Veronica wants to do. Talk about her problems. Like she has a problem, instead of Nathan. Like talking will change the fact that that kid is a twisted psychotic menace to society. Yes, please do pass on the talking.

As for what is actually said...Veronica is sympathetic. That could basically be the story of her life. She spent years thinking, underneath the rage and blame quite rightly directed at her mother, that if she'd been a better daughter, maybe her mom would have stayed. If she hadn't been so broken and suspicious, maybe she'd have a relationship that actually lasted. Something a little more reliable than the "epic" chaos of her love affair with Logan.

But ten years have taught her a lot.]

You can't change who you are, not in any way that counts. And you'll be stuck with that person whether you're home or not.

[It's both Buck up, kid and I understand how much this sucks.]

[She almost disagrees on the last point—the being stuck. She goes back and she's dead one way or the other. If she remembers then she phases and gets to live another few minutes until they reset the timeline. Then there will be another Kitty Pryde growing up in some kinder, gentler, better world. That girl won't be her. Not really. No more so than the other Kitty here is her. Different memories, different life. But she doesn't want to spill out things that make her even more obvious to the casual—or not so casual observer.]

I'm not sure if that makes it more or less depressing.

It is what it is. You can let it keep you in bed all day, or you can work with it.

Every hurt, every scrap of pain, she takes and she throws it back at a dysfunctional, corrupt, uncaring world. Maybe it's not the healthiest way to deal with her problems, but it's worked for her so far.]
