[She hadn't told him too much last night. She got hurt. It was nothing the hospital couldn't take care of and things were going smoothly otherwise and all she really wanted to do was sleep. All true really. Especially the sleep part, but there was still a lot more to say.] I'm checking out early.

[Everyone was greeted with Kitty getting charged with both assault and injury this morning ~~even though you didn't see it on the daypost because reasons but it totally happened, okay?~~ She spent the night in the hospital. They patched her up, replaced some of the lost blood and gave her cheetah-like spotting. Okay, maybe not them, but something did. There's also a tail. She doesn't want to talk about the tail. She pulls her blooded and tattered tank top back on and leaves the hospital.]

Buffy wasn't here and she didn't bother filling me in on the situation when she was. [Yeah, there's a note of bitter because she does respect Buffy, but it would have helped a lot if she'd shared a bit more with the group instead of keeping it all in or deciding she'd deal with it on her own or whatever it was. Too many leaders. Not enough team players.]

How many extra people did you want on your conscious by the time you got it back? Did you ever once give me a reason to believe this was something you were working toward? Something you wanted to do on your own? Or do you happen to remember being too busy threatening and posturing for any of that?

[And then a cough because it's the international sign for overexertion when yelling at someone while he's down after going a few stabbings with a mutual friend the night before.]

I. Didn't. Kill anyone. What part of that do you people fail to understand?! [ Because that was him trying. That was him trying to regain a sense of self without slaughtering the entire dome because he may be rash and ruthless but he's not stupid. He wanted fear, not death — if he'd wanted death there would've been a lot more corpses. ]

Wouldn't even have gone that far if Jack would've left well alone.

	You killed Jack. He said you claimed to have killed someone else. [No warden report for that though. She wasn't sure what to make of it. A lie? Spike's or Jack's? She can't be sure it's true of course, but it is Jack so more likely than not? The frown on her face may say more how she feels about that in relation to Ianto than anything directing to Spike or Jack. But there is more to this. The roads they've taken to get here all kind of started at "he killed Jack for no reason" central.]

Are you saying it was an accident? Or retribution for asking for a deal you didn't want?

It was a game that got out of hand. Stumbled on him one night... already cut himself, the big moron. [ How, Spike doesn't know. It was a scrape, enough to fill the air with the scent of blood. ]

We had a rumble, he'd been bragging about how impossible he was to kill... so I ate my fill. Didn't just leave him there after either. Treated him as well as I did anyone who offered.

[ And there had been others. Claire, Garcia that one time... people he took care not to kill. Not even hurt. He could've been alright with that for a while. ]

[Defending Ianto's honor falls short somewhere between Spike's pain and her growing doubts. She doesn't think the soul was the wrong move, but she is wondering if there was another way to get him there. It didn't seem like it two days ago, so this might just be some revisionist history on his and Rose's parts. Or maybe she let Jack be too involved with something he was too close to and it got away from her. Maybe she trusted when she should have questioned. Lots of noise in her head, trying to sort it all out and her body is aching and exhausted as it tries to knit itself back together after her run in with Tyki she could use the break as much as he seems to want one.]

Fine with me.
