[By the afternoon, Anya is tired of waiting for people to come by her apartment and bring her her pearls. So she starts systematically going through the Dome, stopping people in the street, interrupting them at lunch, knocking on their apartment doors, demanding the return of her pearls.]

[He pauses a moment thinking up a different strategy.] But I am on the Defense Force and if they were stolen from you we should know everything we can about that so we can help you. [They don't really do petty theft according to the new leader, but consider him curious and he hadn't had the chance to unabashedly lie to get information in months.]
