Day 275 - Action/Open
[Around \ Open]
[Kitty will be at the athletic complex running laps and attacking dummies. She'll also be at the DF headquarters taking care of a few things and between other destinations. Approach with caution. She's not in the greatest of moods and the claws are on even if they aren't out yet. So help you if you throw a popper her way.]

[Sector 6 \ Open]
[This used to be her sector—leader of the patrol team that kept an eye on things. She disbanded that team and reorganized the day Reid left. It wasn't a fresh start so much as a priority shift. She does want to get a special team together to explore and analyze sector 6. She tells herself that's why she's heading in there now, but it's not the only reason. She hasn't seen Tyki since the dreams. Not that she knows what she wants to say to him or if she'd even run into him. Better if she doesn't really. Of course, either way she's likely to run into someone or something.]

[Home \ Closed to Reid & Nathan]
[Long day and she didn't come out of it unscathed. There's a couple of shallow slashes on her shoulder and a nasty bruise on her thigh. They're both currently hidden, but there's a blood stain on the jacket where it soaked through. The material is dark so it's not that easy to see.

Even so she stopped to get an assortment of Indian food and a cheesecake. They might not really go together but cheesecake sounded good and she's the one with the cuts.]

Boys? I'm home.

[That... That actually kind of gets to her because she was out today, in a dangerous situation greatly because she wanted to be in a dangerous situation. She wanted to turn thinking off a little and instincts up a little higher and get the adrenaline pumping. A sort of avoidance coping mechanism from way back.

But she could have been more than scratched or bruised and... And she's got responsibilities and danger has become more of a choice than a lifestyle here. Things to think about. Probably why she's been quiet for longer than a conversation can really allow without it being odd.]

...Are you sure you don't want any? I got some paneer kulcha. It's a kind of bread stuffed with some kind of cheese. It's really good.

[That's weird. Awkward conversational pauses are par for the course when Nathan is talking to people, but he's usually the one doing the pausing. Things have been off--extra off--since the dreams, though. Maybe they got to Kitty.]

I'm sure. [Are they really going to talk about Indian food, though? 'Cause Nathan doesn't know a lot, but he knows that it isn't posing a problem.] What's going on? Did you and Dr. Reid fight or something?

[That's very much what he thinks. He doesn't spend all of that time to himself thinking about his own problems. Mostly.

And he sees what she's doing there. Nathan is still operating at zero hope, but he smiles just to humor her. Let her think that her relationship with Dr. Reid isn't the only messed up thing around here that's going to get better.

Since he doesn't really know what to say, he goes with the winning strategy of voicing a thought without bothering to make sure it's a thing that should be voiced.] I'm gonna go out soon, so if you and Dr. Reid want to make up [with sex--this is heavily implied] you don't have to worry about me going psycho or anything.
