Day 274 | Wide Open
[ He can’t do what they want him to do. He holds his device in his hands and just stares at it for the longest time. What if he doesn’t do it? Does he want to find out? In the end, he decides to just get it over with. He just needs to have the most boring day ever.

(Yesterday would have been perfect. He’d spent all of it in bed – despite the forced all-day nap the day before that. He just … couldn’t find the will or want to get up and face whatever lay outside the bedroom door. Some days were like that.)

He fits the device over his ear with a deep breath, scratches at the bandage on his neck, and steels himself for what is probably going to be a long, nerve-wracking day. ]

U-um … so, apparently getting attacked is grounds for punishment around here, and mine is to broadcast everything I do today.

Morning

[ The attack has taught him one thing. He is slipping in his recovery and combat training. He grabs an apple, but remembers he’s broadcasting and doesn’t eat it. He finds a fakey wooden sword and runs through drills. He can almost forget that he’s got his stupid device running non-stop, except when he slips up, then he feels all kind of weird of awkward because maybe people saw that and now he's embarrassed. ]

Afternoon

[ Forget lunch. After giving up on training, he makes his way toward the park, where he can walk around and be boring. Every so often, he'll slip into a shadow and reappear somewhere else. Like, maybe he can exhaust himself, and just sleep the rest of the day. That would still count, right? ]
