[ Sooner or later, you run out of patience. You grow bored, antsy, you find yourself pacing like a wild animal in a cage, yearning desperately for something to happen just to break the monotony and sure, spending a day with lungs full of air and a heart full of beating was fun but not enough to even begin to ease that itch. The demon in your chest is clawing against ribs, screaming for blood, for fire and death and chaos. For the good old days. For something — anything — that makes you feel alive despite being a walking corpse.

He's got his body back. The chip has been out for ages and he finally retrieved his signature coat, Nikki Wood's coat, the very thing that reminds him of past glory, of the road taken to get this far. William the Bloody, Spike, the Slayer of Slayers. One step away from becoming a living (well) legend and now he's stuck here, chained like a dog in the backyard with the threat of a besoulment hanging over him like a guillotine. He's not going to take that lying down. He's not just going to wait, not when there's blood to spill.

It's late when he hits the streets of MarinaNova Asylum, dark shadows lending a perfect cover as he stalks through the sectors. Hunting. He will not go through this quietly. ]

[Funny enough, it's late when Martha leaves the clinic. She'd been caught up in a task that took significantly longer to finish than she had expected. Martha wasn't one to really worry about walking around the dome by herself. Of course, there was the werewolf attack that had left scars down her arms. And Jack had warned her about Spike. She even had a stake hidden up her sleeve if the need arose. But she didn't think it would. She'd been through the dome by herself plenty at all times of day. What made this one any different?]

[ As frustrating as it is to not be taken seriously around here, Spike has started to realize the perks. If no one takes you seriously, they never see it coming when you finally do pounce and after months of playing the good, obedient puppy Spike is more than ready to do some pouncing.

A lot of it, actually. This is just one of the many times he'll pick a prey and almost soundlessly slip closer in the cover of darkness. ]

[Thanks to her previous werewolf attack, UNIT training, and surviving the paradox year, Martha does pick up the almost soundless presence of someone else. Common sense tells her to scream, but the self-sacrificing portion that doesn't want others to get her keeps her silent. One day she's going to have a talk with that portion. Instead of screaming, Martha picks up her pace, making sure her only weapon - the stake up her sleeve - is easily accessible.]
