Day 268 [Open — voice & action] [Closed video & voice]
[It was the heaviness Kitty noticed first before her eyes were even open. At least waking up in Ton Phanan's body is a pretty good distraction against the pain she normally feels when she wakes up to find Reid went out to sleep on the couch again or even that thread of panic she tries to deny where she fears maybe he disappeared again instead. But this morning is all about figuring out what's going on and damage control. She starts by listening to the vague daypost.]

Stop touching my boobs. [The voice sounds and feels very wrong to her. She even clears her throat, but it doesn't change anything.]

Hey. We have a situation. [She keeps her voice low since he's likely in the next room. She really wishes these things would text suddenly.]

You've probably already noticed something strange going on. I want to get a head count here. Who is affected? Who isn't? Anyone in danger with this? Let me know and we can get the force working on it.

[It takes awhile before she's ready to test the new body out elsewhere but she isn't going to stay cooped up all day either. There's bound to be some chaos and she needs to do what she can...without her powers. And why are his wrists too large for her claws?]

[He gives her a long, inscrutable look that may be a bit unnerving coming from her own face. Because he'd woken up in a hospital bed with huge chunks of his body gone and bits of wire and metal where they were supposed to be. And after all the head trauma and the physical therapy and the wanting to die he'd still had to lie awake in the dark every night staring up at the ceiling and that red glow. Real icing on top of the cake.]

You get used to it. And if you can't sleep there are always sedatives.

	No, not at home. I mean here. My friend, Lyle, lost an eye at home. The warden in the old prison installed an artificial one for him when he asked. I couldn't tell you exactly how it worked, but it looked basically like his other eye and he could close it. The place is not exactly running low on tech or doctor savants either if you don't trust them with it. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Not like you have to decide today. Actually, you really can't decide today because you don't have your body. Also... About being sent home. I know Reid just came back with more memories, but...I don't know that it really means he was home, you know? I don't want to talk about this. [Its sharp and angrier than she's likely heard him before and some part of him feels bad about that because she's just trying to be helpful. But at the same time kriff her for bringing it up and giving him hope that's never going to amount to anything. Because it probably won't even work and he'll just lose it all over again and yes he's being scared and stupid but it's bad enough to know he gets to spend today in a body that doesn't make him feel subhuman only to have it taken away again. And yes her argument is the exact same one he's been making to Face about his scar for months now but knowing that just makes him feel even worse and at the end of the day it all just boils down to him being so tired of not being able to change who he is and knowing no magic solution is ever going to be permanent.]

I've got to go. [He doesn't, but he doesn't want to do this right now.] Have fun with the body.
