Day 268 [Open — voice & action] [Closed video & voice]
[It was the heaviness Kitty noticed first before her eyes were even open. At least waking up in Ton Phanan's body is a pretty good distraction against the pain she normally feels when she wakes up to find Reid went out to sleep on the couch again or even that thread of panic she tries to deny where she fears maybe he disappeared again instead. But this morning is all about figuring out what's going on and damage control. She starts by listening to the vague daypost.]

[It takes awhile before she's ready to test the new body out elsewhere but she isn't going to stay cooped up all day either. There's bound to be some chaos and she needs to do what she can...without her powers. And why are his wrists too large for her claws?]

Hands at your sides at all times. No reason not to just wear my pajamas all day. No drinking or eating. [Doesn't actually expect him to do any of that. Also this is surreal even for her. Not that it's her first time seeing herself. After all, there is another Kitty here and she's been around shapeshifters long enough to see their handiwork.] And especially no phasing.

	I don't know what a Jedi is, but I'll pretend to be relieved for a minute. There's also the part where if you solidify inside of something you lose it. No losing my parts or anyone else's. [She shrugs a little. Being in a body that isn't hers sucks. But she doesn't want him to think his sucks more so or anything.] It's fine. Is there...anything I should know? [He appreciates the tact. He's also not going to mention that he spent most of the morning just touching the left side of the face he's currently wearing.] Not really. Powerpacks should be charged and as long as you don't go out and play in an ion field or something you shouldn't have any problems. The eye doesn't shut so apologies in advance if you're planning on napping. Oh and you should probably avoid alcohol. I'm missing so much body mass I'm kind of a lightweight.

I'm not exactly a heavyweight in the drinking department either, but I guess you've seen that. [That makes sense about the eye though. She thought she was doing something wrong.]

I'm pretty sad I can't play in my favorite ion field today, but I guess I'll get over it.

Nothing else is coming to mind for me. I mean you might not like black olives very much today. No allergies though. Mm...phasing can be a little unexpected. Sometimes I sneeze and sink into the floor. [Not mentioning orgasms because there won't be any, right?]

Uh huh. [She's watching you, mister.]

I kind of figured that out. No extra speed or strength with me either. [Though she has trained basically her entire life from dance classes when she was young to intense combat when she was just slightly less young. So she's a lot stronger, faster, and more flexible than you might expect for the average girl.]

...You'll be craving a cigarette soon though.

Because he'd woken up in a hospital bed with huge chunks of his body gone and bits of wire and metal where they were supposed to be. And after all the head trauma and the physical therapy and the wanting to die he'd still had to lie awake in the dark every night staring up at the ceiling and that red glow. Real icing on top of the cake.]

You get used to it. And if you can't sleep there are always sedatives.

	No, not at home. I mean here. My friend, Lyle, lost an eye at home. The warden in the old prison installed an artificial one for him when he asked. I couldn't tell you exactly how it worked, but it looked basically like his other eye and he could close it.
