[ It's now or never and although he was hoping that some time would push that towards now rather than never, Reid really doesn't feel like he's ready. He feels raw and exhausted and although he's pushed himself to go out and get some clothes that aren't borrowed from Karev's closet, he's so not in a place where public announcements are possible.

[She's relieved to take the call later, she'd been wondering what was up with him. Grateful he's back and that he retains his memories, but - well. It's not necessarily a great thing to be back here of all places, but at the same time he's probably like minded in the fact that laying in cold storage or wherever the "lost" inmates are now isn't a great fate either.

So she waits at Bean Crushers, snuggled into her hoodie in a corner booth.]

[ At the moment, those theories about cold storage and this all being a VR simulation are on thin ice. Maybe he'll get back to them later but after the experience he just had, he can't believe that it all happened in his head. Can't. It's too cruel.

He shows up a little later than intended, hair longer and eyes a lot sadder than she's ever seen him before. A broken man, still fighting through grief and being back here and only barely keeping it together enough to make rounds. At least she's someone he doesn't feel the urge to pretend with. ]

[ He really likes Rebecca. He does. She's most likely the best friend he has around here but that touch on his shoulder almost makes him flinch and this pain can really dull down from suffocatingly torturous to just a little bit excruciating any day now.

He makes a noise. A quick exhale of air that could be taken for humorous if this was an entirely different situation. ]

It happened right before I woke up here. Yesterday. So no, I'm really not okay.

[ He will let her and it doesn't take long before he turns tentative into desperate. He could really use some hugs right now but the only person he's really had around who he can hug is also... the one he feels like he betrayed. Or that he's betraying Maeve with. Life is a complicated thing, these days.

He wraps his arms around her, face buried against her shoulder. Really not doing too good, but at least he isn't crying. Barely. ]

Oh, Reid. [Soft, her cheek pressed in against his and her hug all that much tighter.]

I'm so sorry. [There's nothing really to say, it'll always be there. A reminder, a mark left behind from the lost ones - but the only thing Rebecca knows is how to march on. And how to hold him, massaging the nape of his neck and murmuring 'deep breaths' gently.]

What was her name? [Can she ask?]
